How is the 7539U? How is the telephone clarity and usage?

I got the the Pio 7050BT in my CEDIA - still need to try all functions, but basic usage and clarity is good on the telephone. (And of course the music too!)

Should I go for the amp now or buy a sub instead and drive it from the HU itself ? Also, in 15k, which are the good front comp speakers + sub/amp i can get ?

There is no way you can run a sub from the HU directly without an amp.

Sub, amp, front components, sub box, wiring etc. will be a tight fit.

front comps: jbl 607/608 5k
amp: jbl 604 5k
sub jbl cs 1204 (not too sure of the model no.) 4k
sealed box 1.5k
wiring 1.5k

All are approximate(+/- 2k) grey market prices.

The HU is pretty good. iPod direct control works flawlessly with just a simple USB cable and Bluetooth is also good. Only issue is placement on the external mic. I have to figure out a better position as sometimes the voice is not very clear. But overall, i would give it a thumbs up as it fulfills both my primary req - iPod control + Phone bluetooth.

Cooldude :-

In that case, isnt it a better idea to go for a good amp + front comps right now and leave sub for later (3-4 months down the line). In this case, any suggestions for good amp and comps (considering i wont need to upgrade these later)

At times the screen of the7539 freezes when connectiing to the ph i would suggest a 6539+bt module works flawlessly, awsome hu for the price and6539 has RGB color setting option and multi lumi musical sync lites for a party mood..lol,good sq as well and even the iph works directly like the ipod and also gets charged along with playback

Get the jbl 1004 and 6 inch components for front ( you can choose from illusion, jbl, hertz, bull etc.) listen to the components before you buy.
The JBL amp should set you back by 9-11k
the components would be about 4-8k if you choose from the above mentioned brands.

noidaboy:-

I have'nt faced this error till now. Nor did i read up anything about this error on the net. Also, the iphone works flawlessly as a ipod even with 7539.

cooldude1988765:-

Any other amp options apart from the JBL ? Also, is the only difference between 1004 & 504 the power output ? In case i go in for JBL 504 now, i would be able to put in a sub later rite ? Maybe i should save some cash right now by buying in a 504 with good comps for the front right now and add a sub later (maybe a monoblock for sub also?). Sorry for so many questions, but i am a total noob in this area

The main difference between 1004 & 604 is the power output.
IMO the JBL 604 wont be able to power a sub adequately. (more so since you have a sedan)
A monobloc is a good idea, but a good monobloc and sub (worthy of a monobloc) will set you back by about 12-18k minimum (including wiring and box)
If you have your mind set on a monobloc and sub you would be better of wit a 2 channel amp and good front components as a part of the stage 1 upgrade.
You could also get the 604 from JBL and bridge it as a 2 channel and mate it the JBL power series speakers. (I am pretty sure they can handle the power) Alternatively you can check components from other brands that can handle the power.

Stage 1 - (2 weeks back)

Upgrade HU - done (Kenwood BT7839U)

Stage 2 - (now)

Add amp + front comps (budget of 15-20k)

Amp options - JBL GTO 504 (arnd 7k ?) / efx HD4300 (arnd 11k ?) / Infinity (ref475A?? slightly more than 12k)

Front comps - Polk/Boston (arnd 6-7k)

Stage 3 - (next 1-2 months)

Add sub (budget of 5-6k)

options ? Also, if i want to drive the sub from the existing amp only, which amp in the previous step should i go for ? will GTO 504 be good enough ?

Stage 4 - (dunno when )

Add Monoblock

Here i am confused, whats a decent budget for a good mid range / entry monoblock ? Also does it make sense (moneywise) to source it from Singapore (will it be cheaper there ?)

Any suggestions gurus ?

@ethan
if in stage two you get a 75rms / channel 4 channel amp like the gto 75.4 (8K)or the infinty that should be sufficient for your sub needs later
