Try getting hands on one of the following
Model No. Price ( according to www.caraudiosecurity.com )

  • JBL : GTO-7001e - 150$
  • JBL : 601.1 - 140$

Yes, I am using the same setup. I am using the amp at 2 ohms, 480W RMS. I am a SQ person and do not listen at more than 60% of the volume. I am using a 0.7 cu ft sealed box for tight bass and the sound quality is pretty good at full volume. The tuning was done by Anwar, Autofusion at full volume to ensure best SQ outcome from the setup - that is the way he does tuning. Given the cost involved, this is the best option for you. Between, I paid 21k for the same mono in India around 5 months back.

If you have'nt ordered it, you could think about the RFPrime500.1
Gives out 320WRMS x 1 @ 4 ohms and 500W RMS x 1 @ 2 Ohm.

Considering this is less than half your JLs/Alpines/Audisons (~160$) its worth a try. They have some good review too

I came across the following deals on Crutchfield -

MTX JackHammer JH600
You get 600 Rms at 2 ohms for 170$

Alpine MRP-M500 Mono subwoofer amplifier 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com
500 rms at 2 ohms for 180$

I would suggest getting either of these.

OT: Has anyone ever tried picking up "Factory refurbished" amps from Crutchfield ?
