I agree with Noida boy.
What you should do is have a listening session with the stuff you want to spend your money on.
If you like it, you buy it. Period!

I believe they are made in india, or at least illusion has a pretty strong indian connection

having said that, that in no way makes it any worse. peerless is OEM for some of the best Hi Fi brands in the world - better than some random chinese co !

honestly, guys, i'd rather stick with a product that is Made In India, rather than Made In China or Made In Vietnam.
And it's illusions we are talking about guys. Great build quality and unparalleled sound quality in the budget in which it competes! quite bulletproof they are.
case closed for me :-)

May be budget constraints as he bought off e-bay (& that too a higher model)! But originally he'd put in a pair of Electra 6.1 "Made in India"

I dunno if the Luccents are Made In Arizona or not. But my point is that i'd prefer illusions if they maintained this overall quality regardless of where they are made. My Electras were made in India. I think even the Luccents might be from India. The company selling them might have imported them to USA. And now i'm importing them back, maybe

I dont see any reason to discuss where speakers are made. Over 80% of all loudspeakers are made in China (along with almost all ipods, laptops, etc..). As long as proper QC procedures are in place and there are no known complaints on these grounds the PLACE of manufacturer is not something that needs discussion.

Exactly what I think too. @gigy, don't worry about where the speakers are made. Listen to them and then decide.

Most of us here in ICE tend to get carried away by brand names, specs etc. I believe Illusions are a great VFM speakers. I don't really care where they are made, I knew they were made in India when i got my pair. I am upgrading my entire ICE, but not going to touch those Illusions.

where and how it is made , i don't want to know. All i wanted to know was why no illusions in international websites like crutchfield, onlinecarstereo, woofersetc, sonic electronics etc etc (from where i can get cheaper deal. like infinity ref are coming much cheaper there) when its a usa brand.
i am not asking about its performance.
Let me know if this is not to be discussed anymore.

You can discuss about a product, it's quality, build, origins, availability etc.. here buddy. But the product you decide to purchase should not be based on what country it is made. (I agree many people tend to like products made in a certain country more than another country which is purely a personal thingy). It should rather be bought because you like it's performance and sound.
Regarding the limited availability of Illusions on internet sites, B&T! Do something! It's not even available in Kerala properly.
