ICE Suggestions, Budget 25k

Hi,
I'm new here and look forward to learning from all of you. Right now I need some advice on an ICE setup for a Corolla 2007 HE. It has no HU so far and is fitted with the stock factory speakers.

My budget is a a maximum of 25k.

My sound preference is largely tilting to the SPL side of the fence once a certain level of sound quality has been achieved, which admittedly isn't much by the regular "audiophile" standards. And yes I am a real bass head. I like the mids/highs loud but not too loud and I like the bass louder and as tight as can be. I listen to mostly bass heavy music.

I already have a HU, a JVC KD-DV 7306. So I require suggestions for front/rear speakers + Amplifier + Sub. The front speakers are not as important as the car is not self driven.

Do give me info on where to find the items you suggest in Kolkata if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Front--JBL/Illisusion
Rear-JBL 947/938-4000
Sub-GZ MK II-5490
Amp-JBL 1004-12.5k
Install+wiring-5K

I may be a bit off with the prices but these are approximate prices.
You can PM me if you need any help in kolkata.

if your current budget is 25K start here:
1 10" woofer: 5-6K
1 4ch amp: 6-7K
Front and rear speakers: 8-9K
Wires and damping: 4-6K

later add
1 10" woofer
1 4 ch amp or monoblock

I am no guru here but in my struggle to find things i recommend this setup.
components for rear GZTC 16MKČ 6k
4 channel amplifier GZTA 4.120MKČ 12k
subwoofer GZTW 12MKČ 6k
wiring GZPK 20 5k.
these are approx prices. check the latest.
you can do damping and add front & wire to head unit later as budget permits.

navin, do you have any 10" woofers in mind? How loud will they go?

1420, welcome to TeamBHP. Good to see another member from Calcutta.

The choice of brands available here is limited. JBL, Pio, Polk, Blau and Kicker are the usual suspects. I would suggest Glix 2000 at Alipore. They carry these brands and their installs are decent.

Any particular brand to get for SPLs? Subs that are loud and tight.

JBL are freely available and they aint bad and work well with 100-120W that the 4 ch. amp will put out.

With a budget of 25k you cant expect to get the best but you can get quite a decent setup.
Since your car is most chauffeur driven you can do away with the front speakers but thats if you want to stick to your budget.
Rear - you can opt for JBL 947.
Sub - The Ground Zero MK II-5490 is supposed to be a brilliant SQ Sub but since you want SPL you can try the JBL GT5-S12 or the GTO-1214
Amp - JBL 1004 is the best Amp you can think of as its quite powerful and will be sufficient to power your Sub.
You can set aside 5-6K for wiring and a Sealed Enclosure for the Sub.

Looks like I will be getting a JBL sub and amp.

mohit, I had thought of getting rid of the fronts to accommodate the budget, I might add about 3k then I guess I could add regular fronts, nothing special although I really would prefer not to overstretch the budget.

Where would I be getting a good sub enclosure?

If you can squeeze in 3k then you can get decent speakers but then you will have to connect them to the headunit.
For the sub enclosure you will have to get it made and for the dimensions you can contact me once you have decided the on the size of the sub.
If you want to go in for a 15 sub inch DjNik has an enlosure lying with him.

Thanks.

I will let you know once I've decided.

Any suggestions on the speakers? I can't find the 947 on the JBL site.

Oddly I can't find the 938 either, there is a 937 on there.

1004 is 10k? I thought the list was 14,990? Grey I presume.
