Amplifiers

The Amplification to the setup was also a very difficult choice, Initially the setup was to run on Audison AMPs, A Four channel and two monoblocks for each sub. So We hooked up the Four channel first to the front and got down to the audition. As Soon as the setup was fired up, I did not like the way it sounded, It was bright to my liking and moreover the setup lacked the depth of sound. It was like a wall of Music in front of you. I was not actually enjoying the music. You can blame this because I had been listening to some very high end setups and my ears were expecting music like that.

Dis-appointed with the outcome, I ask GYRO for an alternative because I was not going to have a setup which would sound like that. I had heard SLC's in my friends car before and really liked them, so i knew the fault was in the amplification and not the speakers. Catering to my music Taste I was advised only one thing GENESIS. I did overshoot my budget to some extent, But one thing was clear after this there is no looking back, this is the ultimate piece of equipment I could lay my hands on. So I put the foot down and decide to put in the AMPS. The Monoblock was out of stock, So I had to do wait for that, The four channel was readily available.

The AMP arrived, it looked delicious. Gunbir and JB arrived as well. They fit the AMP, Gunbir sets up the cross-overs, JB tunes the AMP gains and we get down to listening it. As soon as the first track is played, I GO WOW!! What a change, The compos were sounding ten times better, Lot more detailed and laid back just the way I would want. After going through some more tracks, I was happy about the fact that it was money well spent. We also hook up the two woofers to this AMP, So At present my entire setup is being powered by the four channel. with 150W going to each Sub and trust me the Bass is very nice, though it lacks the quantity but the quality is really good, Infact some SQ Lovers like SK found the bass to be too much

I am waiting for my mono amp to arrive, after which we start to work on the final boot finish. The present one is temporary but still can give you an idea how the final may look like. So please dont complain about the same. Its still a work in progress.

Looks pretty good.
Since the amp rack is made, where will the mono go.
Wouldn't it be blinger if both the amps were together.

Also you going for 2 monos or 1 only?

Nice installation in the boot. Wondering how it would change when the mono's come in place.
Just can't wait for rest of the installation.

unbelievable install. Manan that's an excellent system you've put together there. Absolutely love the tweeter pods. the white subs look great too, so do the rainbow midbasses...no wait, everything looks good!

However the subs would look even better in a cool FG enclosure.

also please do post damages at the end of this thread.

Manan , a question.
Has the boot floor been cut to accomodate the amp rack.
Or is there an additional board on top of the original boot floor?

The spare wheel has been removed and new mdf boards were made ,The first board covers the spare wheel well,on which another mdf board and the subwoofer box rest.On top of that is the amp board which accomodates the amps and the wiring. And,finally a cosmetic plate finished in piano black covers it to hide the wiring ,

Its not that easy as it looks, All the sides and subwoofer area were replicated in MDF. The subwoofer also has an plate around it finished in Piano Black,

This install has one of the most painstakingly put together and finished boot section I've seen yet.
And by the looks of it now, it's going to be reworked again.

You lucky guys have some of the very best installer who can live with so much of patience and hard work.

Damping

I dont think once needs to say anything here. Subs in the boot that too IDMAX, means heavy damping in the Front doors, parcel tray and Boot lid.

Damn. Frankly couldn't understand a word about the amp. Will have to check it out to understand.
Is it removable?

What about the spares. won't you have any problem suppose there is a flat tyre?

The damping looks too much.
What damping , how much and what price?
