Living Life BLING Size: My Civic ICE'd

So Finally after 6 months of having the Car with me, It was time to upgrade the Audio of the Car. The Car in the past six months went through a lot of MODS but all were restricted to the exterior and Performance, With almost these factors complete, I decided to take that Crappy Stock Setup out and give it the ICE treatment it deserves.

The obvious choice of the installer was GYRO at Moti bagh simply because they have the best brands and moreover the Best installation crew available. So I head over, It took us almost a Day to figure out what I wanted, the options etc. One thing was clear, I wanted an Install which would look GOOD as the Car. In short words I wanted something BLING. To which i was assured that I will get what I want.

First Day, we Strip the Car down, and Lay out the Wiring, The Wiring used in the car. The Power Cable used is 0 Gauge Kicker. The Kit from Kicker includes Distribution blocks and Fuse Holders, So all in all it was a complete kit with everything we need. The RCA's since effect SQ of the setup directly, I was not ready to compromise on these, Hence I chose Connection Audison BEST series. I was always a fan of the Connection quality, had that running all through my Previous Swift Setup and was extremely satisfied with them. This almost covers the First stage. Here are some pics of the same.

Its a Long List of equipment so be prepared for write-ups and Pics accordingly, Cant help it I am very excited.

Front Stage

Ok, So after the wiring is laid, The next question what Speakers, I chucked the idea of having rear speakers, Though I was advised to add them since Civic is a Big car, But 99% I drive this car alone or maximum with someone in the front Seat. So now only speakers are going into the front.

I really wanted to put in the ID CXS, since i had heard them at length in Sam's car, when he had them, and really liked the Mid Bass and Tweeters of the set, But as well all know Civic is not the greatest car to ICE in the world, The MIDBASS was too big and would foul with the glass, so that was ruled out. The SLX DLX,F3 Kick were also not considered because I had them in my Swift earlier and wanted some more big. The Rainbow Germanium, I love this component, Heard them and fell in love, But the price was way out, at this stage because I wanted more things to get completed first. So the Only choice was the Rainbow SLC, I heard them in my friends car, running of a Kenwood HU and Genesis DM AMP, The midbass was nice and tight and the tweeters were perfect for what I get at this price, Though I still liked the Germanium Better, My Next upgrade for sure.

Here are some pics of the same.

Tweeter Placement

So, The front stage is decided, And the Mid Bass is mounted. The cross-overs are fixed below the front Seat.

Now the Tweeter placement, which is the biggest issue in the civic.

The Stock locations were obviously not chosen because they are way up front the stage and also very near to the Windscreen, The Reflections of that would not yield the perfect sound and also hamper the imaging badly.

Next, The front door pads, Again ruled out because, First would require cutting of the Door Pads which would be expensive to repair or replace in the future, and also even though i did not mind that, We tried listening to that location, The Imaging and front stage was not perfect. Not to my liking.

So what do we do, We cannot leave them hanging on the dash.but then suddenly walked in Three men, The trio called Gunbir,Jb and mukul. They have some plan for the same. And I was told that it would solve the problem and also add the BLING factor to the install. and here is what they come up with.

The PODS were perfect, They blend with the dash, Look Stock and most importantly they sound right, The Imaging is just perfect. Kudos to the GYRO team for helping me out with this

Nice tweeter pods. Who made them?

Do I see your speaker wire and power wire running alongside? Not that this is terrible but normally I prefer running my speaker wire alongside my RCA wire and leaving the pwoer wire alone.
