Trying to do a nano effect on ICE?? well i read a thread here where some one got aan usb /sd card player in the range of 800-1200! So look out for a decent second hand desi 2 channel amp, affordable entry level types, bargain and haggle like hell for a low price and hook the speakers, may improve the SQ!

Anything like from the past 2-3 months I've not been talking of installing ICE anytime soon!

All thanks to this recession!

An amp does make a lot of difference, especially if you want to hear music rather loud and want the neighbors to hear it too. The built-in HU amps start distorting after a certain volume level.

You will have to consider at least another 3K (2-ch amp in grey + cables, wiring etc.) to put in an amp.

Hi Guys,
Finally decided against the planned setup, it was coming to poor for our taste,

Here is the New and Improved setup:
Head Unit : Pioneer DEH-2150UBG (Rs. ~6300)
Speakers: PIONEER TSA1665 (Rs. ~1700)
Wiring and Misc : (about Rs. 1000)

Total : ~8000-9000

However he is not satisfied with the price of the HU though he likes the new speakers, crisp and clear sound if not loud.

Any suggestion of a HU which is cheaper (Should have USB/Aux-in, CD Player not necessary)

Suggestion to other: Don't buy a unbranded HU , their sound quality is poor (we tested 10 different units of the same model and all sounded different! plus one does not get warranty (imagine you buy this from somewhere and after about 30 mins of use it fries off) the same happened yesterday when we were testing different combos)

No way man. In delhi you get the decent 4050 for 5400 bucks, and the awesomer 5050 for about 800-1000 more.

Those speakers are crap (take JBL).

And hey, wiring etc for 1000 - for such a minimum setup is daylight robbery. I had gotten a lower quote from two very reputed installers on this forum. Just that I've held off - but that is pricy for the level of equipment.

Thank you for saving me phamilyman

I was just going for installation tomorrow,
I called up the guy and told him you are a cheat and a big liar (my friend was saying that when he had gone for installation the guy put the HU and wiring and then said his billed speakers (Kenwood) are not working properly and he has put sony at no extra cost )
So now I am looking for a new guy , any idea of the best installer in Amritsar?

Thanks Nitrous for suggestion, but these are not available in Amritsar, can somebody from the forum hook me up with them ?
