if there is a difference in price between the two (at least 30%) will say it makes sense to buy it from Grey market, but be sure the place you are buying it from is known to you.

The latest grey market price for the JBL 1004 is ~8.5k.

You can pick up Illusion Electra EL 6.1, 25sq.ft Noisekill damping and the Ground Zero 8 gauge wiring kit from Hermit Audio. Mr.Bass&Trouble who works there is a reasonable man.

As Frank said, you can get the JBL GT5-12 sub and a 1.0 cu.ft sealed enclosure made out of 0.75" thick MDF.

Get the install done by Evo @ IndiraNagar. Blueraven is also a reasonable man.

Is clarion785USB available in Bangalore? And how does the performace of this compare to Kenwood 6539 w.r.t Ipod?

As of now this is how my setup looks like -

Amp - JBL GTO1004 - 10k
HU - Kenwood 6539 - 9k
Front Components - Illusion Electra - 7k
Wiring an damping -
Illusion Electra EL 6.1, 25sq.ft
Noisekill damping
Ground Zero 8 gauge wiring kit from Hermit Audio

How much it costs for this setup of wiring and damping?

he he.. thats bound to happen. 26k + 4k (assuming the ones given by nitrous comes for that).

But I would prefer some things to buy in grey market so that still leaves me some buffer.

I am still undecided on rear coaxials and sub (inclined towards sub since frank mehta suggested that)? Any more ideas from gurus?

the damping will cost you approx 150/=sqft =3750/= for 25 sqft
8 gauge wiring kit will be around 2.5/3k.

on t-bhp people started with a budget of 50k and end up spending 4/5 times of that, as your budget is 30k you can stretch it a bit say 20k

Now I think things are going beyond my budget. Guru's please advise within my budget.

As of now this is how my setup looks like -

Amp - JBL GTO1004 - 10k
HU - Kenwood 6539 - 9k
Front Components - Illusion Electra - 7k
Wiring an damping -
Illusion Electra EL 6.1, 25sq.ft Noisekill damping - 3750
Ground Zero 8 gauge wiring kit from Hermit Audio - 3k

This takes to ~ 34k

If I take some of them in grey I guess it will come to 30-31k.

you have 3 very good option for amp which are available in the classified section.

1. gz 4 channel amp (frank)
2. jbl 75.4 (gill)
3. jbl gt5 (zak)

there is no harm buying a used amp, plus points of buying of used amp you will save money. will say as you have a budget of 10k buy franks gz frank has hardly been used it. its a good buy.

How good is JBL GT5-A-604 w.r.t JBLGTO1004? Zaks is selling it for 4.75k and he is from Bangalore. This ICE bug never dies so please give opinions based on the fact that I may upgrade and am looking at one time investment for each part.

Amp - JBL GTO1004 - 10k
HU - Kenwood 6539 - 9k
Front Components - Illusion Electra - 7k
Wiring an damping -
Illusion Electra EL 6.1, 25sq.ft Noisekill damping - 4k
Ground Zero 8 gauge wiring kit from Hermit Audio - 3k
Installation - 2k

With installation charges I guess everything now comes for 35k.

Brand new JBL GT5 A604 costs ~5.5k
Brand new JBL GTO 1004 costs ~8.5k

The 604 is a smooth amp. But, puts out just half the RMS that the 1004 does and the GTO is one series higher.

Disclaimer: I apologise if I'm hindering some BHPians from selling their used stuff.
