Shashank, installing 4" comps in the dash area is not worth it at all. Get the Illusions from the above ad, but get the price down. The Blau amp is also ok if you can get the price down. Discussions on price can be had through PM, I guess.

Thanks John bhai. Now since you have agreed to cutting an Esteem, I might go ahead and do it.

And what about the DEH 6950ib, is it a good HU ?

I took that decision 2 years after joining T-BHP. And i don't regret it one bit, so go ahead, but get it from someone who has done that before. I got mine done by Blueraven (Satya).

About the HU, I'd prefer the Clarion any day above the Pio. The clarion has USB input, so you will not feel the need for an ipod.

see shashank, there might be a lot of brands that are equally good and might offer "silken, bright, laid back" kind of sounds but what matters is your liking and taste and most importantly the budget!

See instead of going blindly by what others say make sure you audition each and every brand that'll go in your car. well i had a budget of 15k when i got my install but it went on to 32k but i'm not cribbing cause, i got my kind of output.

I got, Illusion EL6.1 compos, jbl gt5-A604 4ch amp, gz twmk2, pioneer 3090UB, kicker cables, dynamat, etc. in that 32k. Well if you ask me the output i'm totally satisfied, all these equipments were initially auditioned by me and then were finallised, it took a good 2 months. But it was worth the wait ofcourse.

So i suggest you to be a little more patient and decide for yourself, cause you are gonna listen to it!

Thanks Paddy, I guess its gonna take a lot more time. But I am very impatient guy. I might just very well jump inot any accessory shop and ask him to fit whatever he wants.

As I have mentioned earlier, my ears are untrained and I do not have much taste. I cannot differentiate.

I went to the JBL studio in Lajpat Nagar, listened to Bulls at driven and Illusions in LBM's car, however I cannot differentiate anything, I liked them all. Infact while in JBL listening to 6" speakers, I thought one was good, however was later told it was not a comp at all but a standard Co-ax.

I read somewhere that a selecting an ICE does give one an insomnia. And I cannot stop doing permutations and combination fo what to do and how to maximize my resources for less than 20k.

There is a new realization that has dawned on me , I am not too keep on comps on the front. Infact I don't think I enjoy my music upfront. I would rather appreciate it coming from the back and just a small help from front to give it ambiance.

However I will still like to keep my options open in future, so here is what I am contemplating.

Front - JBL GTS-S204 4", 2 way speaker, 120W - MRP is Rs.1790, might get them for around 1500. This doesn't sound like much, but this is very low risk for me, no cutting required, cheap sets, if they do not live upto my taste, can easily be given to some friend or moved to other car.

Rear - Illusion EL 6.1 for Rs.6.5K, I guess my car has 6" enclosures by default, so they will fit in without much problem and would also leave me an option of installing them upfront if I want them at later stages.

Now coming to HU, Driven guy suggested Kenwood 543, 7k with B&W and 5K in grey.

Is this bound to work, I do not plan on an amp as of now, however might jump for one in couple of days or maybe same day if I am not happy with what I have.

well, my indecisiveness comes into play again. Now I have made my mind, for what seems to be a value for money proposition for me.

Front - JBL GTO608 - Rs.4.5k grey
Rear - JBL GTO947 Ltd. - Rs.4.5K without bill, but Rana says its under warranty. I can get GTO938 for 3k only, however I guess 947 is the rehashed version of 937 and is highly recommended here.

Was planning to add a basic amp to power a basic sub, however Rana says that with 947 I am not gonna need that.

Coming to HU he is recommending Kenny 543, 5k in grey and 7k in B&W. The Pio5050 is around 7k in grey

DONE !!

Pio 5050 HU - Rs. 6.5K (Grey)
JBL GTO 608C - Rs. 5.5K (With B & W)
JBL GTO 947 Ltd. - Rs. 4.8K (With W)
Wiring - Kicker - 11 Meters - Rs. 850
MDF - Rs.250

So my system is complete in 18K, fits perfectly in my budget of 15-20K

remaining money would be spent on buying the portable HDD.
