Attaboy! You have crossed the first hurdle already. Can't really figure out what you meant by straight, but here is a pictorial based on your first pic.

What legs & rings? You will only need, apart from the FG materials, a square sheet of MDF large enough to mount the sub. This sheet will get incorporated in the box you will build.

Better to get the sub first to know the mounting depth. Based on that you can decide how much the front mounting plate should bulge out.

Hertz subs are comparatively expensive and more difficult to find. JBL and other brands have 10" subs but availability you have to check.

I would choose the Blaupunkt GT4 Spl Mk2, JBL A604 and Kenwood 8404 in that order in either of your use cases, but that is me. Prices vary - should be around 6K with b&w.

If you manage to make the box yourself, damping will be a breeze. Yes you will need damping, first and foremost behind that grey FRP side claddings of the boot (there are many cables etc. which start rattling) and the hatch.

Sorry to bump this thread,

I would like to install my sub - jbl gt5 s12 in a similar way in my santro.

where can i get this done in Mumbai? fiber glass specialist ?

also will a 12" woofer fit above the wheel well ?
