OK LBM, I will shed some light on this.

Audison (amplifiers) was the primary brand of Elettromedia for a long time and initially they did not manufacture speakers. They came into an understanding with Focal (who only made speakers) where Focal would distribute Audison in their home markets and Audison would distribute Focal speakers in Italy. With time Focal became popular in the US and began to distribute Audison there too. This arrangement proved successful for both companies as their products complemented each other very well. Focal had a sharp (some say edgy) sound, and paired with Audison amplification, they mellow down and sound lush. Audison and Focal combination is still quite popular with a lot of Focal users.

Meanwhile, Elettromedia (Audison) began to develop their own speaker range. They felt they needed a speaker product that represented their concept of sound, rather than Focals. So Hertz was born. To design and develop Hertz speakers in house, Elettromedia employed some of the best loudspeaker designers in Europe and created their own team. Soon thereafter, Hertz products were made available and found great success across Europe.

The one problem was. Elettromedia's arrangement with Focal still existed. So till 2005, Focal only distributed Audison in the US, but not Hertz as it is a rival product. Thats the reason you dont see much Hertz in the US. But that has changed now and Hertz is being sold all over the US through a new distributor. You will now begin to see a lot of Hertz on the english speaking side of the Internet.

Hertz is very popular across Europe, Russia, Australia etc. and have won EISA awards. Here are some reviews from magazines like "Car Audio & Electronics" and "CarHiFi" (not in english but you will get the idea). These are just some of the reviews out there.

CAE Review of HSK165

CarHiFi Review of HSK165

CarHiFi Review of HX200 sub

EISA award for Space comp

Hope this helps...

thanks for the reviews man will comment on the same as soon as possible......

Does anyone know the price of Pio 4850 HU in Bangalore? A friend wants to buy one.

man one question which I wanna ask how can I wire three subs SVC to two amps....... here are the details about the install....

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...391151,00.html

"reside two GM-D510M digital mono amplifiers to power the three TS-SW124D 12-inch subwoofers"

So experts can u shed light on this.......

Hello everybody !

After a lot of posting on t-bhp, saving money towards ICE and hunting I have been able to round up compo speakers, a 15" subbie and 2 amplifiers.

Now Im allready aware that the equipment I have isnt perfectly matched/suited to my car (santro zipdrive) but this is what I now have and Im going to put it to use :)

Current install :
HU : Pioneer 7650
Front : Pioneer TS20 Tweeter
Rear : Pioneer TS-6891r (6" x 9") 4-way http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CPSA0Nh...9&I=130TSA6981
Sony Xplod 502 amp

I also have the following waiting to be installed :
* JBL GTO 606ce
* Alpine MRP f-240
* JBL GT-4 Sub 15"
* 1200 watt 1/2/3 channel amplifier (Chinese manufactured, local amp)

General Specs of JBL GT4-15 (sub)
Frequency Response 20Hz - 400Hz
Sensitivity 91dB
Impedance 4 Ohms
Voice-Coil Diameter 50mm
Cut-Out Diameter 362mm
Mounting Depth 172mm
Overall Diameter 385mm
Vas 133 liter
Qts 0.44
Fs 28.36Hz
Qes 0.47
Qms 7.35
Sealed Enclosure (vol)43L
Vented Enclosure (vol)113L

Regarding the amplifier :
Some background regarding the amplifier -

1 x 1200 watts bridged
2 x 600 watts
2 x 300 watts @ 4 ohms 0.03% THD
Sensitivity (signal to noise) 102 db
Frequency response 10Hz - 35KHz (+1db)

I know Im probably going to get the flake regarding this amplifier - quality, build, performance, quality etc etc.. the list goes on. Its a no-name brand but im told has been built well and engineered based on some reputed amps.

This amp is branded as "US - Thunder" and is a manufactured in China but marketed as being developed in San Francisco. I know this makes it sound ambiguos but read on....

An old family friend of ours is involved in the company that manufactures distributes the amp and he is looking to export the amps to other asian countries. He has vouched for the performance of the amp and Im now in posession of a new unit. As a show of support and to support him I decided to take up the offer and invest a little in the amp. As of now we havent discussed costs etc and he wants me to use it for a while and let him know what I think. I think its a fair enough deal as this goes beyond just ICE and its sort of a personal favour to a friend.

Now getting back on track, can I have your suggestions on the best possible setup for the equipment ?

The sony 502 can now be laid to rest or put to use in a friends car. Thank god.

The rear 6x9" will be retained and Im hoping to disengage the tweeter to reduce the harsh bright soudns of these 4ways.

If you need some more technical specs of the US Thunder amp let me know I can get them for you.

Thanks in advance :D

Oh yeah a while earlier I was confused regarding whether santro front door could accomodate 6.5" It seems like it can be accomodated after all.
I saw someone with 5.25" MDF ring and he said similar could be worked out for 6.5".

Also my car does not have power windows, but I traced out the speaker on a sheet of cardboard and placed it on my door panel. Looks like it just might fit without interfering in the path of the window lever. Might end up cutting some of the door metal dont know yet....

Since you have made up your mind, just go ahead and post reviews about the amp. The compos should go in ther as they was a similar instal with Hertz ut a 5.25 inch one as you pointed out. ( Think rareone's was a 6inch co-ax install).

I just wanna see how you gonna put that 15inch sub in the boot:D .Gonna have lot of thump for a Santro.

Dump the Pio tweets

amps strapped i assume.

use master amp for input. use slave to double power. I have seen some Premier amps strapped I can only assume the D510 allows this too.

no navin this model does not allow strapping even if it allow the series and parllel values will be 1.33 and 12 ohms which both are wrong in this setup. it is becoming mystery to me how did they manage to do that.......

2 other options.
a) use 1 amp for the outer woofers and one for the middle! bizzare! yet one can get the same sensitivity but adjusting the Vb of the 3 woofers.
b) modify and use the middle woofer as a passive radiator! more bizzare!

anyone else or all gone to have gobi and butter chicken........lol

Yeah this was a worry when I purchased the subbie that it might rattle my car too much and pose a problem rather than ICE. hehe anyway lets see how it goes. Might need to sell a hand or foot and dampen the entire car as well! I will have no use for the tweeters as the 6.5" are compos :)

Hi Guys,
I got my system installed yesterday.
HU: Alpine CDE-9843
Front : JBL 606ce

Nothing at rear (budget constraints + back seat is empty 99% time). Sounds nice.. infact far better than my expectation!. Installed at Poona Motors.
While installing the woofers in my Swift door panels these guys drilled some holes in the metal .
Would the holes+screws lead to corrosion? Can I do something to prevent it?
