You can get a HU and a pair of components for 12k. Your choice of HU seems fine, do try to have a look at Pio HUs before finalizing. :) |
LOL for what?
I got the remaining part.
@guyon.....
Balu from Hamburg made me laugh too. ;)
BTW, in 10k budget it's very much necessary to get a good HU if any further upgrades are planned. If not, then a HU worth 4-5k will do. Get a pair of good speakers for the front for another 5k. And You're a rock star within the budget.
If you're not very particular about Blaus, then I would suggest you to check out the new Pios and Alpines for their new HUs. In speakers you should check out the illusions and Hertz Dieci range.
On the "Balu" :p

Whats b & W. Thanks! - Head-Unit : Blaupunkt Maui MP36
- Fronts : Blaupunkt GTc 542 Component
- Rears : Blaupunkt BGc 693 6"x9"
Could you please give me the price for each of these?
I wanted to go for Hamburg for the Bluetooth feature for attending calls and stuff. I have a K790i so if possible will use streaming via Blutooth I dont have any Ipod or Mp3 player to plug in and i dont think phone's data cable will work with any of the HU. |
approximate prices
headunit was 9500
front components 2400
rear ovals 2900
got a 7.5% discount on the whole thing.
dont rate these components just by the price alone.its just a midrange and a tweeter without an external crossover but they offer a lot for the price you pay.
Hi folks,
Quick question on component speakers for the Wagon R. Is it possible to fix components like the Infinity Kappa 5-1/4" components in the front door. The default location in the dash in the Wagon R takes only 4".
As I am driving 99% of the time, so I wish I could make my front stage more lively and smooth sounding. The GTO427s are good, but I really want to put components up front - any suggestions please.

i don't think anyone has 4" components except illusion, for whom you can contact B&T (Bass&Trouble) on the forum. there could be other brands available down south, but since they aren't available officially with b&w, i don't think it will be possible for anyone to send them to you.
JBL GTO 427s are good. you can also take a look at polk db series, they have in-built capacitor that functions as a crossover, though most ppl here think they are 'bright'. if the stock location is same as the alto on the dashboard, it doesn't make much sense to go for a component set in the low end budget. if you however want to, then it is better that you go for a good 6.5" set, take the extra effort and install the driver in your door panel... all you need is a couple of rings, and a hole in the panel ;-)

there is no such thing as a perfect wife.
and no such thing as a perfect sub and amp.
but you can take a CD of your favourite songs (preferably from as different genres as possible). then listen to a few kinds of setups. then a few brands. then select one that sounds the best to you, and you have what could be called as a more or less perfect set-up for you!!
do you drive most of the times? or are you chauffeur driven?
how do you like your music? loud, boomy? lots of base? or low volumes, more clarity and tight bass? do you want to show off? do you want to listen to it yourself?

Rear Tray( MDF ) - Blau OD 693 3way Co-axials
1. Blau OD series 10inch Sub.
2. A 2chn Blau amp to drive the sub.
4. A set of 1inch Blau tweeters.
3. A 4chn Blau amp is being considered to drive the Front components, rear co-axials & the tweerers ( to be slotted in an appropriate position )
To avoid running the RCA cables twice, can I use the aux out from the 4chn as input into the 2chn. Is this possible to do.? |
1. if you have components there is no need for tweeeters
2. you can run a pair of cable from the 4ch. amp for the 2ch. amp but if your HU has subwoofer level control (and sub out) you will loose that control.
3. putting the sub on the rear tray is an IB install and if efficient enough. Sealing the tray with damping material wont change the subs efficiency.

Speakers: 4 choices of speaker: JBL, Hertz, Illusion, Blaupunkt 8-9K
Amp: 4 choices of amp: Kenwood, Blaupunkt, JBL, Pioneer 7-8K
Sub: 3 chocies of sub: Pioneer, JBL, Blaupunkt 5-6K
so there you have it 48 combinations, all equally "Perfect". :-)

there is usaully a ST/Mono switch.
Need Help. I have two Pioneer 7200M mono amps.
I have ordered GTO1204BP D. Is is possible to use these two amps to power this woofer? If yes How. I was driving Pioneer 307 DVC at 2ohms.
Thus using 1 amp per woofer. I will be selling away the pioneer woofers, and will no longer be using them once my JBL woofer arrives. The JBL wil be arriving this Saturday.
The BP-D has two inputs that are connected using a jumper. Remove the jumper and you can use 2 amplifiers, simple.
Hi Guru's,
I would like to upgrade my ice setup.. Max budget is 20k.
My Existing setup..
1. Car - ikon 1.3
2. HU - Kenwood cassete player
3. Speakers - Kenwood co-axials [ front and rear ]
My Requirements are,
1. HeadUnit should have Aux-in port, should play DVD-MP3
2. Front Speakers - JBL or Infinity [ Comps prefered - Based on availability in chennai ]
3. Rear Speakers - JBL or Infinity [ Based on availability in chennai ]
4. SUB - No as of now.
5. AMP - Confused whether to go or not..
I need clear and crisp sound with Decent bass.
What is the front stock location in ikon? I prefer going for component in the front. I dont want to cut the door pads. which size will do?
And, if i am going for Front component, i will be running it from HU most probably. Will that cause any problem?
If AMP is suggested for this setup, i have to look after the grey market for my requirement.
Suggestions please,
Madhan

cool. So will the two sub woofers inside BP-D use different amps. Will this not cause any problems? Also the Amp Pioneer 7200M has a higher wattage for 2 Ohm load. I would ideally like max output, and from my amps, and no output loss because two out of phase subs. I tried to check the documentation online for the subs, but could not get any info on this. Sam you are a savior to me.Thank You.
