Guys, I'm having the following setup:
Sony HU (with front USB)
Front Sony 4" Speakers
Some Chinese Tweeters
Rear JBL 210w Speakers
JBL S644 Amp
JBL GT5-S12 Sub
JBL (Original) Wiring

Sometimes, there is a slight hiss from the rear speakers when the horn is in use. I got it installed from Karol Bagh as I was on a limited budget. Now the issue is that I want to get my setup re-tuned.

Whom should I approach, Gyro or Driven and how much should the charges be (considering there is no such actual installation) for re-tuning?

tsk13, change the horn relay.

Gurus,

Any idea on how good focal amps are?.

I am planning to use
focal solid 4 for the
focal access 165 A1 front components and
DLS 6*9 speakers at rear.

focal solid 1 for
Polk momo DVC sub.

Both the amps cost around 13k each.

Let me know if the price is reasonable and if there are better amps
in that price range.

Thank you.

Navin Sir, thanks for the help and for moving my post into the right thread; I shall get the relay changed soon.

Guys, any idea of 4" components?

Good 4" components are hard to find. One I liked was the Focal 100VRs becuase it had limited depth and fit just about everywhere. Remember that 4" woofers have a limited capability when it comes to low frequencies so yo have to cross them over at 125Hz or so.

Kicker, Illusion, Hertz, etc.. all have 4" components. I dont think others like Diamond, DLS, etc are available in india though.

Thanks Navin Sir. I'll checking the market for the same, preferably LBM as he stocks Illusion AFAIK.

Hi All

I have posted my queries many times , in many threads as well (lets keep it hidden for Mods) ;) But I haven't got a proper answer although.
May be its because my question is not clear.. But here with Gurus like Kapasi, I'm sure I will get a coin :)

Q. I want to change the stock HU coming with Verna SX ABS, which is Kenwood make, without front USB, AUX-In, DVD support and Bluetooth.
I want to change the HU just to accommodate all these features.. forget about SQ, I'm pretty happy with the stock speakers :D
So, Gurus, could you please suggest me a proper way to solve this?

Thanx in advance

Actually Sam Kapasi might offer you the best solution. I have not seen the inside of a Verna to tell if you will need a dash kit and/or steering harness.

Yeah navin..
And I'm waiting for Sam... He's back after his Glorious trip (Mumbai to Delhi in a Nano)
and hope will check this thread soon :)
Meanwhile, opinions are welcome always :)

Use just the ovals on the parcel tray instead of both - bass from the ovals will be far far better than the ones on the rear doors.

Sounds like you're right, Will take your advice.:thumbs up

I just bought a Honda Civic-V/MT. It comes with in-dash audio system. I want to hook up a movie player (laptop or DVD player) to the audio system. How do I? Thanks!

@mps_delhi, there are 3 ways of doing that:

1. Replace the in-dash audio system with a DVD capable unit with a built-in LCD. I think you will need a dash kit along with that. Most of them allow an extension to another monitor, while playing the audio directly into the stock speakers. You can mount extra LCD screens behind the front seat head-rests

2. Retain the existing in-dash audio system, and adding a roof-(ceiling-)mounted DVD player with LCD screen. Here, the audio has to be fed to the in-dash system, and only the rear seat passengers will be able to see the video (the driver shouldn't, anyhow)

3. Ditto 2, but use a unit that replaces the front passenger side sun-screen. Wouldn't recommend this one though - looks crappy in a swanky car like Civic!

You could extend the upgrade to putting in better speakers and using an amplifier to get better sound than the current setup. Sky is the limit, so you need to scan what is available in the market and decide on a budget.

Thanks, Der Alte!

I will soon visit an ICE dealer and report back on your suggestions. BTW, do you know any good ones in Delhi?

Thanks, again!

Yesterday while traveling in a Tavera I Noticed a rather different HU. The driver told me that this HU has only USB & Radio & costs roughly 1k-1.5k. I was pleasantly supriced as the sound from a regular 6X9 was quite nice for an HU at that price.

Someone on a shoestring budget & who is not really an audiophile should take a look.

Sadly I couldnt ask him the brand &/or place to buy but since its a Pune Taxi I assume it should be available in Nana Peth in Pune.
