I just didn't want to have that conversation all over again.

PS: I asked that question first

well, even at 4 ohm, there is the better control.

I'm not sure about the prices of the kicker & DLS equipment, but for the price of a 4 channel amp + 2 channel amp, he could get an entry level class D mono. Having heard redfire's class T blaupunkt, it was head and shoulders above any class AB amp south of 10K I've ever heard.

I prefer giving more power to the sub than the comps. And he can get a decent 4 channel later

A 4 channel would then be redundant. Two 2 channel amps like the Panasonic 2003 (py something, excuse me, I am a little rusty with model nos.) would cost him less than 15-16k. What a powerful package that would be!

This is because the A-pillar in my Zen faces downwards. After repeated attempts of angling it upwards, I simply cannot achieve it.
Although, They are perfectly at my ear level but only the Angle isn't correct. I want the mounts to be of the type where I can screw them at the hole where they are screwed now and something which allows easier Angle adjustments. Can somebody help me build or source a pair?
I'll post the pics after a few days.
Need your help urgently.

Which Class D mono are you using in your car?

@abhipuru16
19 inch silk dome tweeters?
Are you using a class D mono for the tweets?

J/K, try posting a few pics of your current install and am sure the gurus will have some suggestions ready. Fiber-glassing is the way to go in my opinion but can be costly.

Try local ICE shops; they might have left overs from some installs or a fiber work?

Check Frank's thread to see how it will look.

redfire's wasn't a Class D and it a 2 channel . It was a T one and gives 200W @ 4ohm if IIRC.

It was using that in my car before I for the mono. The difference in SQ was very evident when I swapped it with the mono.

I would suggest buying a 4 channel amp now, power the compos and sub. Enjoy music then upgrade so that you would know the difference in m u s i c .

Damn! What a BLOOPER! They are 19mm Silk Dome Tweeters. As regards to finding them in local ICE shops, I tried in vain. No luck!

I need an SD card for my Bolero ICE but I was unable to find the one I was looking for in Delhi. While I could get the ones with 8GB and 16GB memory, I could not find anything above Class 4. I wanted at least a Class 6 to ensure faster downloading/transfer, etc.

1. Where can I get Class 6 and above SD cards in Delhi?

or

2. Is Class 4 sufficient speed.

If there is a thread on this, please post it. Thanks.

1. For audio class 2 is adequate.

2. Class 6+ (24Mbps+) is primarily required for HD video. Other names are Extreme IV, Extreme III (aka 15 Mbps is also adequate for HD video but at a lower rate - for HD video please look at forums that discuss cameras like the Panasonic SD9, Canon HF11/20, SOny CX7, etc..), etc...

3. Both Class 4 and Class 6 cards are easily available in Mumbai. They should be available in Delhi too. You are looking in the right places but not being a Delhiite I cant help you as to where to look.

Navin, thanks for your input otherwise I would have kept on looking for a Class 6 card. I then went ahead and bought a Kingston 8 GB Class 4 SD card for Rs 975.

I recently installed MTX Road Thunder RTS602 6'' components in my ten year old Zen in place of JVC CSV414 coaxials I was using earlier. They are rated 60watts rms and 240watts peak, and are 93db sensitive. I shall post the exact specs later. The speakers are being powered by the head unit as of now and the new speakers sound good and quite to my liking. My question is if this is a reputed brand or not because I haven't read much about them here. I checked some of their Jackhammer videos on Youtube and they were very exciting. Hope to listen from you soon.
I chose these components in place of 608c because LBM suggested me against them as I hate bright and shrilly vocals but like them to be warm and soothing and love punchy bass which these components indeed offer. But, my car is emanating vibrating noises from everywhere. Will get them fixed this saturday.

There are plenty of threads that deal with the issue of damping the door panels, door pads etc. so that they don't rattle and vibrate. Here are 2 that specifically talk of damping.

Yes, a 2 channel would do the job as well.

Better than a 5-channel? Maybe yes, maybe no! What are you comparing with what? Specs don't tell the whole story - the sub channel of some 5 channel amps may not satisfy you, but may satisfy me. The critical thing is the amps abilities to push current through the sub in all conditions - but then most makes don't declare this.

Your 'poor little battery' is not normally in the picture unless the engine is off. The current to the amps is supplied by the alternator under normal circumstances. If you run 2 amps off the battery only (engine off) - you will have to call someone to push-start your car but the battery won't die.
