Advice required on Blaupunkt MonteCarlo MP34

TBhp Audio Guru's I need some advice. I tried searching this thread but did not find any answers.

I have a Blaupunkt Montecarlo MP34 system which came with my Safari. I want to change that system and move it to my other car. When I detached the system I saw the multipin connector was factory fitted with all wires in place. Now if I want to move the set, I have to cut the wires so that I can take out the connector as well. The Blaupunkt service center guy suggested to buy a similar connector from Blaupunkt which costs Rs. 450/- and use it itstead. Is this a good idea? Is it a normal procedure? Only befefit is, I am not cutting the OE wires and instead using a connector. But I may need to buy 2 connectors. one for the old car and one for my safari for which I will install a new ICE. Does that mean Rs. 900/-?? Wow thats expensive just for connectors.

Pls advice...

Hi

I am looking to install sub in my Punto.
I currently have 1 set of components (Infinity) in front doors and 6X9 speakers (Infinity Reference 9633i) in the rear parcel tray (MDF).

The speakers are powered by Blaupunkt MK2 amp and KENWOOD eXcelon X994.

I am looking to add a subwoofer.

In my current setup both speakers are powered by MK2.

I am planning on removing the 6X9's and add coaxials or another set of components in the rear door (Later, not right now).

Which is the best sub available with budget upto 10k.

If I remove the 6X9's and only run front components and sub, would it be sufficient?

Also need advice on components.

Which ones are better?
HERTZ Energy HSK 165
FOCAL ACCESS 165 A1
ILLUSION ELECTRA 6.1
RAINBOW

If i buy another set of components, I was thinking of moving my Infinity components to the rear doors and install new one in the front.

The components should not be too bright, should be natural sounding with good bass.

Woofer should have good lows and mids!!

Here are a few more points:

Regarding the compos. I like disco like sound. :P

The woofer and front compos would be powered by MK2. So, please keep the ratings in mind.

Rear coax or components are not on agenda right now, just seeking some opinion.

I have 2 options to choose from right now:

1. Remove 6x9's, move infinity compos to rear door and add new compos on front doors, add a sub later.
2. Remove 6x9's, keep infinity at front, add sub and power both with mk2.

Which box should I go for? Ported or sealed?

If you want a natural sounding with good bass go for the components from DLS they are very good. You can even try the Illusion series.

As for the sub please let us know if you want a SQ set up or a SPL setup.

What is the RMS output for the blaupunkt, I am sorry I do not know that.

Please give some details on the AMP.

Regarding the enclosure please go for a sealed one. Gives out a very tight bass.

Since you want to go for a woofer. IMO remove the 6x9 and go for a smaller set of speakers like the JBL GTO638 or something like that.

Since you are planning to power the sub with the same amplifier you will not be able to go for a bigger output woofer.

If planning for a MONO amplifier then there are lot of options.

The above details are IMO. Please ask the Guru' s further.

Iam confused between two headunits and two component speakers. Please help.

************************************************** *****
HU (inside 12k):
Pioneer 5250SD (SD Card, 4V RCA Out)
or
JVC KD-R716 (5V RCA Out, Bluetooth etc)
or
Any Alpine available?
************************************************** *****
Components (inside 7k range):
Hertz
or
Infinity
************************************************** *****
Note:
- I have with me a used 12" JBL Bass tube, JBL Rear oval speakers (300w pmpo) and a 2 channel amp from my old car.
- I plan to get another 2/4 channel amp (to drive the comp speakers atleast) along with the sub-woofer.
- i want more clarity of sound at medium volumes than anything else. I mean the sound of guitars should be crystal clear while playing some rock English numbers.

Please suggest what units should I go for. Or atleast suggest the best combination from the above.

Budget for getting the 'remaining' things in my Car Audio would be 25k and my new Car is Swift.

@Sumit, IMO you can get the Infinity kappa 60.9 CS, 6.5" components, very good, and they are 2 ohms, you can connect them to your front 2 channels of your Amp at 2 ohms load and get them powered. The rear speakers can be powered the HU.

You can bridge the rear two channels of the amp to get around 180 RMS for the subwoofer. There are a plenty of subs. But you can also think of a option. In the team-bhp's classified section there is a sale for a ID 8" sub, very very good sub.

Try it, only if you like to. The above all are my opinions please consult with some senior bhp-iian's and Guru's.

All the best.

I have heard kappa, they are little too bright for my taste.

I am thinking about iD 12" sub.

Sub with Mono block amplifier (costly)

it depends on the 2 amps you are comparing. A sony 555 vs the JBL 301.1?yes the JBL is better; but the JBL 301.1 vs say a Audison VRx? the VRx amp (even bridged will dump more current).
