Dear Sam,
I am having a Sound stream 4channel installed in swift with 2 rear channel dedicated to sub,now i am finsing that if you just twist or rotate the RC cable near the amp or tap the amp with hand , we hear a thud thud sound in the Sub.Can u please guide me to sort the same out.

Please guys, I am losing my sleep over this.:Frustrati

What HU are you using? Does the HU have any Subwoofer settings? For eg Pioneer HU's have a setting that lets you opt between rear speakers and Sub.

Also how is your Sub wired if it is DVC?

Its a stock Fiesta MP3 Headunit with Preouts "taken" (read soldered) from inside.
The subwoofer is the Infinity Ref1240SE which is a SVC subwoofer.

Is there a possibility that the rear channel RCA might be damaged, say pinched somewhere?

i have stock ice in i20. i am planning to install 8 inch JBL GTO804 sub woofer and paired with JBL KAC M525 amplifier. I will be using stock speaker and stock head unit.

The sub-woofer will be on the parcel shelf and amp will be either below passenger seat or at the back.

I have been quoted Rs. 7000 for GTO-804 and M525 and JBL wiring kit. Is this a good buy? Any changes i should make to this set up?

Please advice.

I'm suspecting a little misinformation. The KAC-M525 is not a JBL but a Kenwood Amplifier. A good one probably, Kenwood makes nice car amplifiers.

As far as JBL wiring kit is concerned, it is a fake wiring kit, (unless it is 2 year old stock). Don't go in that direction.

Yes, i did got it checked yesterday and it was kenwood. I wrote it wrong. They only have this m525 2 channel amp in stock. Can you point out some similar JBL amplifiers?

If not from JBL, which wiring kit should i go for?

I have no clue, please help!

i m looking for 2 din HU for my swift and short listed JVC KW-XR816 with 3 pre output with 5 volt and b/t connectivity it is worth to install it or i should look for other brand.
my range is 13000 k.

Well, like I said, most kenwood amps are top-notch quality and I cannot see a reason to look for alternatives. If you're a brand loyalist, you would then look at the GT5-S422 amplifier from JBL, which would be sufficient to drive the GTO804 8" subwoofer..

Wiring kits are available from many brands, Kicker, Monster, Scosche etc. On a budget you could even power it using Finolex cables and MX RCA cable.
Works fine and you will probably not notice a difference with your 2 channel amplifier.

Subwoofers sound best in which type of enclosure, wooden box or a FG enclosure assuming both are built to required volume specification ?

FG has it's advantages - it is stiff and it can be moulded into just about any shape but it is not as non-resonant as good quality MDF.

MDF - is cheaper and non-resonant but cannot be moulded into complex shapes.

I have been advocating a sandwich of 2 layers of 4mm MDF and 2 layers of FG (which is about 4mm). This way you get a box that has walls of about 12mm (good enough for small boxes around 1 cu. ft) that is damped and easy to shape. 4mm of MDF can be bent quite a bit. Even easier is to use 4 mm marine grade ply.
