Hi Bhpians I am back after a hiatus.
My system is running perfectly fine with NAVIGATION & AUDIO being used extensively.
Just had a nice long drive from Nasik to Ambala & back to Bangalore.
The Nav system worked flawlessly throughout the route.

Just received my SoundMax Superbeam Microphone, ELM 327 OBD II adapter & Silbas USB Radio. This weekend will be in the car to set it all up. Has anyone put a ELM 327 in an TATA INDIGO? What all data it shows? Any tips about SILBAS USB radio?

Just for info Satguide has come up with an map update in january 2010.

Waiting for tips before plugging in all the stuff this Sunday.

Do post your experience of using Silbas USB Radio. one more thing i wanted to try was enclosing the receiver in a shielded metal case and fix it in one place to see if there is improvement in radio reception.

Hi Mate, excellent work to say the least. Could you please post the entire cost breakup?

Hi guys after a long period of wait N planning I have finnally completed my carputer installation in my Indigo.

The specs are as follows:-
1. Intel GCLF mother bd(Single Core)
2. 2GB RAM
3. 160 GB 2.5" HDD
4. LB 100 D DC-DC PSU from iride
5. Mini ITX Case from iride
6. 7" Touchscreen from AMSIMPEX
7. Blaupunkt 4 Channel Amplifier
8. Holux GPSLIM 236 USB/B-tooth GPS
9. Centrafuse Frontend
10.Satguide One India Maps for Navigation

I have also modified my dash to accomodate the touch screen by cutting off the portion where the single DIN audio system goes.( Shall post snaps soon)

I have changed my sys config a little its as follows:-

1. Mother Bd to DGLF2 with dual core atom
2. Power supply to LB 160 D
3. GPS receiver to Rightway USB/Bluetooth Datalogger

The system is slightly faster then previous bd & I can log GPS data for analysis on Google Earth etc.

Tried the Silbas USB Radio- Nothing great, noise at speeds stationary its fine.
Tried ELM 327 just no reception.

Andrea superbeam Mic- no joy in setting up the phone, bluetooth seems to be the culprit.

Shall update after 16 feb, signing off for a short holiday.

Goodluck all CARPUTER Freaks......

Finally I have set up the OBD module, its working now.
Problem was with the COM port baud rate, changed it to 38400 & it sprung to life, but of not much use in my Indigo LS TDI as hardly any data is supported.
Only ENGINE LOAD, COOLANT TEMP worked with CF.

Shall be checking with some other software this weekend.

Has anyone used ELM 327 on an Indigo, any different result??

My main aim of getting a ELM 327 was to find Fuel consumption is it possible with ELM 327 in Indigo?

Good to know that it worked finally. You can ask Sheldon. he has installed carputer in Indigo. He has ELM 327 too.

is yours a BS II or BS III indigo ? the ECU depends on that.
PS: can you give me a link to what you bought? I may be interested in getting one for my indica TDI if you can get it to show boost :D

I got my ELM 327 from Deal Extreme, slightly delayed shipping but its only 30 US $, so I think worth it.

techfreak, why dont you try this software TouchScan OBD-II Software
I am using it and it is very precise in fuel calculation.
It has 3 methods of computing FE. My honda has a MAF sensor, and I use that method. But my fusion does not have the MAF sensor,so I use the IMAP method which is also very precise.

Tried with various free & trial version of OBD softwares incl TouchScan, Scanmaster ELM but seems Indigo LS TDI BS-III is not fully OBD compliant.

In PID support list it shows Fuel system, EGR, Veh Speed etc etc as supported but displays only 3 parameters in all softwares. (Coolant Temp, Eng RPM & Calculated Load Value.)

So hardly of any use as no software can calculate fuel consumption rate or any other useful data.

May be in its BS-IV avatar Indigo supports OBD II fully for being of any real world use.

Spent quite some time today on installing the USB FM stick, but no luck.

CF crashes, Radio not getting sw off once started, reception distorts as the veh picks up speed etc....etc..... the list of woes is long.

Seems have to get something else for this radio thing.

Anyone has successfully setup radio in CF 2??

i dont think a BS IV TDI engine exists yet. The Dicor engine might have been more co operative.
not sure if it helps, this is the only confirmed case of sucess on a tata ecu

It is believed that none of the models being sold now have obd. Tata Motors explains, “For export, our Euro iii models are equipped with the obd. For domestic there is no requirement as per norms.”
this is a 2005 article btw

I have tried to set up the phone function in my carputer running CFII but its not to be. Has anyone successfully done this.

In my case the bluetooth connection seems to be dropping every minute, I can hear the called party but they dont hear me.

My specs are Intel DGLF2, CFII latest, Iball BT dongle, Andrea stereo mic.

Any suggestions????????
Need it badly, wifey is really cheesed off with such expensive junks!!!

Iam using the phone function quite well in my carpc. No echo, no delay. I am using belkin bt dongle, a normal mic and the echo cacelation feature of the MB.

Is your bt dongle connected directly to your MB usb? do not use a hub. Also are you using hibernation? what stack are you using? What are your settings in phone menu?
