Thanked: Once

@frank, that's a good input. I`ll keep this in mind. Lots of other priorities, ICE is not really thought as of now. Happy with the built-in HU and stock speaker. But anything particular that I should or you recommend to go for? My car is Swift Zxi. If it doesn't burn the pocket too much then might just give it a shot. Otherwise FFE has got the priority.

Thanks Again !

I have the Zxi. In the manual that comes along with the car, for the Nippon NSCR-03 cd player, it shows a diagram at the back with a pre-out for rear left and rear right output respectively. It also has a socket for a hands-free kit and a CD changer (to be purchased separately).
Apart from the steering remote, it also comes with a normal credit-card size remote.
I'm pretty happy with the sound, the speakers are fixed in front and back doors and I can't expect gut-wrenching bass. The clarity is quite good.

I have a Ritz Zxi and keeping stock HU, I just spiced it up with Infinity reference compo and 6x9s from Auto Shop B'lore. it cost me nearly 12K including MDF tray and wiring and charges. It sounds way better than stock speakers and unless you want a punchy bass, it is quite acceptable bass from 6x9.

One more thing, today I saw the bluetooth kit which connects directly to integrated HU (Nippon NSCR03), it can stream A2DP stereo music but dealer said that it can play only with front 2 speakers, I need to check that with another dealer. Anyone have any idea? And what about parrot systems to integrate with this stock HU?

Usually the BT adapters play only through the front speakers, unless the HU puts it internally to the rears also.

However, don't have high hopes of good quality music through A2DP - sounds rather tinny with almost no bass. Playing through EP socket (Aux-in if available) is far better. Of course, the OE Nippon in Scorpio plays decently - probably because the speakers have no bass coming out anyhow .

Hi All,
I suggest you search ebay.in -> car accessories. You shall get many steering mounted bluetooth options that use FM to connect to any HU. They can also stream USB / AUX inputs in case your HU does not contains one.

Re: Ritz-Zxi: Better music possible with stock HU?

Folks .. news for those who have been looking to add USB support to their factory Nippon HUs in Swift / Ritz / SX4 .. spoke with one of the service engineers from Nippon in Mumbai .. it seems that an interface unit will be available in Maruti dealerships to add USB support to Nippon units (connecting via the CD changer port at the back)
Am guessing it would be something like this
Yatour-Digital CD Changer,Digital Music Changer,iPod Adapter,Intelligent Parking Assist,AMI,KVW - Products - Yatour Car Digital CD Changer

BUT .. the only hindrance is the price .. he told me that it would cost some INR 5000 .. definitely not worth it.
