Buying a 4 channel amp from US

Planning to change my JBL 75.4 and getting a new amp from US next month-end when i am there.

I am getting inclined to Alpine PDX 4.150 as my Budget is $400 upper limit. Any suggestions?

Amp would be used to power rear polk audio MMC690 and front Focal Access series components.

Buy the DLS RA40. 420$. Excellent Amp. Heard it in a car in UK with focal components (dont remember which one though) . Very clean and Excellent output.
Truely Value for Money.

Dont go for Alpine . It has severe Noise issues.DLS Ra40 is a great buy. Please look out for Infinity Kappa 4 and Soundstream reference 4.920..

wow! on paper soundstream looks very powerful! Any idea what should be the best price on this?

amit i think you would want to avoid soundstream. never heard tru in detail, better PM gunbir.

i would want to avoid soundstream?? any specific reason because i really dont know much about it and have neither used soundstream products.

I found SS comps to be average. Also, I recall gurus here telling that SS are not what they used to be, hence avoided.

Also take a look at the JL Audio V2 series. Great amps and aptly priced.

I find ScanSpeak to be one the better speakers, to each his own I guess.

I think he means soundstream, scanspeak is definitely topnotch

As far as soundstream goes their domestic US stuff is far better than the stuff they export ie those LOS series of equipment was pretty bad and the components from that series really were average to be kind to them

other than that soundstream made some decent stuff cos i wouldnt say no to some of the original "da vinci" or "tarantula" series amplifiers .... and i would kill someones mother for a pair of those "human reign" amplifiers

I would be most probably ordering the stuff from ebay to my local US address in boston... would you suggest going the ebay way? Moreover any way to find out the difference between the domestic and export quality of soundstream?

They were very good couple of years ago but went bad in last 4-5 years.Still reference Line and Human Reign line is absolute top notch.
I am getting a SoundStream Ref4.920 in couple of days. Lets see what i get
