I like the Class AB sound over the Class T (personal preference)

why didn't you use the 450 over the 5 5 channel amps? the alpine would not drive the 2 10" subs?

Go for 5 Channel..trust me as far as 450 is concerned its a powerful amplifier. Before TRU Techs we used to have 450. Driving Alpine X types in active mode (2 Ch for Highs, 2 Ch for Mids) in the front and a 12" IDQ Sub.

I another car (Indigo) 450 is running Alpine X types in front and rear with 12" Image Dynamics IDV3 Subwoofer in the parcel shelf and the car rocks.

Above 450 i recommend Audison SRx5 and LRX5.600 but they are expensive as compared to 450.

WoW thats a nice set up there .... I love that panel, how much do those cost? I am sure the sounds amazing with the amount of stuff you have packed in there... was just wondering how effective the center speakers are... is it just a tweeter or does it give bass too? also doesnt it hinder you vision and look ugly in the center of the dash?

Its a two way centre channel by JVC. It has a small midrange and a dome tweeter. It does not affect the vision and it was the best place to mount the centre channel.

Though in the new mercs its not a problem as it can be flush mounted in the factory location on the dash.

Ran the audio output of the phone (from the old system) in parallel to one of the amp inputs (probably center) ?... just guessing since we never did get an answer to the quiz Q.

Lol, no.it's still 5.1 as long the subs are getting the same '.1' output from the source. An analogy to your understanding of the surround format would mean that the Bose system with 2 cubes for each of the channels is a 10.1....yeaaaaaaaaaaa!

P.S. I still want the PA275s :(
