I didn't buy this, but it was seen at a customer car for delivery. Its available at all Hyundai dealerships.

Its really shortchanging for sportz/asta owners. But, the sportz/asta HU can be swapped for this one easily. Don't know if you get any buyback price though. My gut feeling says that this new stereo should come in the facelift I10 due later this year.

Friends, I will be taking my i10 Magna for second service shortly and was considering fitting an ICE. Is the above ICE a genuine accessory from Hyundai? The ICE is not listed on their web site
Hyundai Motor Company :: i10

Rs. 12000 seems more to me. I am looking for an ICE with USB, MP3 and FM support and 4 speakers within 10K. However, will shell out 2k more if the above ICE is Hyundai Genuine Accessory.

Good for us i10 owners, we now have the flexibility to play various music sources. As its a hyundai accessory helps to maintain warranty and dashboard look as well.

Does this also support amp and subs?

Thanks Sid and Ikoneer. I went to the service station today and all details provided by you are correct. It's a genuine Hyundai Mobis Audio accessory with costing of Rs.12000 and comes with bill and 2yrs warranty. I will most likely fit the same coming Saturday.

Here are few snaps (low quality due to mobile snaps)

Does this mean that the OE HU in i10 asta has the provision of fitting USB?
Going by this post - I strongly think so.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...ml#post1499784

Now if only someone can validate it can be done, because I have located a cable to put into that socket (I think so!!):
USB Aux in ipod Interface Adaptor for Hyundai on eBay (end time 04-Oct-10 17:05:24 BST)
Too costly @ 75 GBP though (have to get a cheaper version of this for a DIY)

The ebay page says:

Make & Model of Stereo:

Hyundai OEM Head Units with 8 Pin Din Connector

and the c3 8 pin connector is free in i10 asta HU, but takes the USB connector in i20 asta HU

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...ml#post1500752

Guys please comment!

No, it does not at all mean the same as you are interpreting.

Read the eBay item description carefully - it says 8 pin DIN connector. C3 is NOT a DIN connector. The DIN connector is a ROUND connector used to connect the CD-changer (mentioned in the item description) - the Indian Hyundai OE HU (looks like a Blau OE HU) does not have that. The OE HU in UK Hyundai cars referred in the eBay item is quite different from the one @wildon has posted the diagram for. The India OE HU has USB interface directly available, which means it does not suffer from the file / directory limitations mentioned for the eBay item.

Also, the Hyundai / Mobis HU meant for i10, the one that @Simhi has posted about, seems quite different from the HU @wildon has described. Going by the icons on the box (we have nothing else to go by till @Simhi gets the HU and posts more info / pics of the unit), this unit *has* USB, front Aux-in and Pre-outs out of the box!

Friends, yesterday I got the Hyundai Mobis music system in my i10 Magna AT. The reasons for going for it
1. It fits nicely into the dashboard
2. When we purchased our car, the HU in sportz version did not have Front USB.

Few other points - the size of the remote is very small (snap attached) and also you lose the original clock in the dashboard and need to refer to the clock in the HU.

BTW, the sales advisor told that i10 Facelift would be launched around 22nd or 23rd Sept and the HU would have Front USB.

Here are few snaps. If you require more details let me know. I can refer to the Manual and provide information if it is available

Like most OEM HUs, I believe this one will only provide a perfect fit and fulfill a basic audio's requirements.

What about SQ?

@vigsom: The sound quality is acceptable to me.

BTW, I am not an expert in music and don't know what bass or treble mean. I just wanted FM and USB (to listen to mp3).

Also, Friends have given me advice to purchase USB extension cable and an AUX cable so that I don't plug in USB directly into HU. Will purchase them over the weekend.
