ICEing a Zen with CNG cylinder installed.

Have to get ICE does in my friend's Zen, and I have been out of touch from ICE scene. SO basically we already have a Blau THA-475 amp. Now we need HU, front speakers and rear speakers. Willing to spend around 15-18k on the stuff. Now since SW cannot be installed, would need speakers that would give decent thump. Suggestions ?

If you cant use a sub the bet opton is 2 6" in the front doors and 2 6x9s in the rear deck. You wont get the last octave or great detail in the bass but it should sound balanced.

That is what I was thinking. Comps in the front and Co-ax on the rear.

Any good models doing the rounds ? in my car I am running JBL Comps I guess 608C was the model number and 638 on the rear with Pio 5050, without any amp or sub. And he quite likes the performance. However I was thinking on trying something better.

JBL offers good VFM. Ttheir T5 line is a bit cheaper than their GTO line. Your other option is better components (say with a budget of 8-9K) mated to a pair of 6x9s under 6K for the rear. then use the 3K save to damp the doors and hatch.

Oye, I thought you had a HU and amp.

if you need a HU+speaker for 18k then JBL's GT5 might be your best option (Bull, Blaupunkt THx etc.. might be a bit more).

HU: 7K (with 3 pre outs so that when he add a subwoofer later you dont have to dump the HU)
Front 6" components: 6K
Rear 6x9 Coax: 4K
Good MDF rear deck for 6x9s: 1K

Rainbow SLG Titan 265
Rainbow KX 165
Pioneer 3250
Bull Audio 4.200

Budget was damned and this is what we ended up getting.

We still have an option to change the AMP and HU. Will a HU with HPF and LPF do more justice to the speakers ?

How is the Bull amp ?

The person who owns this, wants something to maximize the thump from the speakers.

You can add a subwoofer with CNG .Install the Stepy between the cylinder and hatch door .This leaves your steply space empty .In the bare minimum height of 150mm (145 mm is original tyres width ) you can get a GT5 10inch from JBL with a custom box and you are good to go .totally stealth .Also if you can spend a bit more go for Infinity kappa 12inch as in jbl website thatis only 125mm in height .(Do let me know any source for kappa though i am also looking for one).

For the front i would suggest Infnity ref 6.5 inch .You can buy them for 4.5 K in delhi w/o bill . and rear Infi 6x9 reference for 4.3 K w/o bill .you would need some tool to cut out the sheet metal in front doors if you do not want a spacer to be installed .
Also with CNG you should have gone in for 9kg slim cylinder .Would have looked more clean with the speakers.

The stepny well is not flat. There is a small mount in there, which reduces the height considerably.

Secondly, all the things I have mentioned above, they have already been installed. However he still has the option of changing HU and Amp.

I have used Bull amp recently in my bro's Skoda. I cannot comment much on sound quality as its powering stock Skoda speakers (upgrade in pipeline) but amp does comes packed with a lot of power. They have a iD CTX subwoofer in a sealed 1cu ft box and it loud enough for listening inside the car.

It is a very thin strip of metal .Just cut it out very easy to do in case you do wanna go for a install in this way.
