Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

Dilip,

Do you drive with a light foot? At what RPM do you upshift? Lately I have been revving more, and my fuel consumption has come down to ~ 10 - 10.5 within the city.

Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

I like the mods you have done to your T-Fort.
Especially like the caska and all the features it comes loaded with.
Please comment on the map setup that you are using for GPS navigation
Also can people watch different things on the monitors or do they have to watch the same video?
You are getting some fantastic mileage there.

Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

Looks nice and well integrated
A few queries on the Convex Headrest displays though.

How much did the Convex headrest monitors cost?
Is the screen size 7" or 8"? 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio?
What video inputs do they take other than composite? S-Video? VGA?
Did they come with the headrest pillows or did you modify the OE ones to accommodate the displays?
Are they tilt adjustable and how is the viewing angle?

The map which comes as OE is Satguide. I am not satisfied with it. Have been using MMI Ver 6.0 in my Swift and it is miles ahead in comparison. Also Caska is dual zone , means the passengers in the back can watch movie whereas the driver can use Navigation. Also the Convex display has got SD card reader,USB slot and AV input

@Digital Vampire
It cost me 7200 INR a pair. Its a 7inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio. The display comes integrated with HR pillow and available in two shades, Black and Biege and tilt adjustable too.

Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

Having a dual.zone feature is another feather in caska's cap.
Quite a fully loaded unit.
Can you put your mmi v6.0 sd card in the caska and use it? I too am using mmi 6.0 and am quite happy with it.

The mmi license is device specific,so we cannot use it in another device.(Must have noticed they will ask device id for upgradation). I also enquired mmi customer care but they said they don't have maps for Casks unit.
Cheers

Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

Thanks for clearing this.
Yes you are right they do ask for device id for map upgradation.
Would have been nice if we could get it to work though.

Mapmyindia maps v6.0 now available for Caska. I purchased it from official distributor of Caska in Kochi, Media Team Solution. Cost me 5K. Anyday better than Satguide.
Cheers

Re: PICS : Caska in my Toyota Fortuner

Hey this is great news, thanks for sharing this valuable info.
Finally one can use MMI on Caska. I had always thought it was possible till you clarified earlier.

@ Dilip. 7200 INR for a pair is very cheap. Privilege Moto Mall, Chennai quote 17000 INR for a pair of 7 inch displays. Where did you get it from?
