Reduce the gain on the subwoofer amp. XO the subwoofer at say 60-80Hz. Increase the slope of the crossover to atleast 3rd order. This might just be a tuning issue.

BTW it is "BASS" not BASE. and yes BASS is also a fish but that is pronounced "BAASS".

So you mean to say the sub is overshadowing the rest of the system in your car....

What other system is in your car i.e what speakers are there.are they stock ones.... which HeadUnit you are using.

Are you sure the gains are not high on the amp for the sub.

That sounds Greek to me.

Sorry for the slip there. Its Bass alright.

But what about changing the stock rear coaxials?

Sure go ahead and do that but in most cars (Class A, B, C, and C+) the rear speakers are not located where they will provide a good soundstage for the rear passengers. Of course better rear speakers will be more enjoyable but one day I think I scared my chauffer when listening to Pink Floyd. After that day I switched to headphones so as not to distract him.

Navinji; I like your choice of music. Next play 'The Doors' and send your driver on a 'trip'.

BTW: Which are the best coaxials available? Do we have 3 way rear speakers too?

"best" is a subjective word. Listen to a few. Most probably the same brand that you have in the front will make sense.

Yes there are 2/3/4 and even 5 way coaxials but dont let this nomclature foll you. A good 2 way coaxial can outperform an ordinary 3 way. Let your ears decide.

Re: Using IPod in Altis

If you want to control your songs for the headunit itself then you may try xcarlink interface. ipod/iphone gets charged from the interface also you can use your steering wheel controls. Enjoy!!!

Re: Something missing; overwhelming bass

I think first ask your installer to tone down the gains on the amp for the sub, it should be able to help the sound you are looking for.

If not then you can plan on upgrading your rear coaxial speakers which you can again drive from the amp. Many brands are available, please audition before selecting anyone/anything on pure recommendations.
