Which AMP and Subwoofer for the Innova!!

Our latest adition to the family....our Toyota Innova, has been installed with a Pioneer P6750 Mp3 player, stock Alpine speakers on the front doors and JBL - GTO506CS (165W) speakers on the back ones.

The problem i'm facing, is the rattling sound the door panels make when the "Bass" is increased. The absence of a subwoofer has converted the gap between the door and the door panel into a makeshift sound box, which really gets on my nerves when ever it begins to rattle.

What do you think would be the right AMP and Woofer combo for my setup?

I'm no audio expert, but since the interior space in the Innova is similar to that inside the Safari I can vouch for the Blaupunkt ODsb8000A Active sub. Decent, SMOOTH base (not Brigade-Road-Thump-Thump) and quite compact too. Its a bit pricey at Rs.12,900/-, though. The big advantage is that you dont lose space for two components (Sub and Amp) as the amp is built in.

well shan the best way to reduce the rattling will be to use damping pads like wurth , dynamat etc ..

Coming to the amps , i suggest the amps from alpine are the best .. If u can tell us ur budget for both then it would be easy to suggest u a amp and sub..

Also i fugured out that u have coaxials running at the front and the JBL compos at the rear .. U might want to reverse that for better soundstage ..

PS: A budget of 20 k for both would be ideal ( well if u didnt know we can get u to spend twice as much too ,what say navin )..

Shan,

The Blau sub mentioned by Steeroid is not bad. Another alternate is teh JBL 60.2 with the 1200B. but you first need to damp those doors.

yeah mclaren, swithing the components to the front will improve front soundstage dramatically.

No Rahul beta, it was bought from the Blaupunkt shop in Cochin.

By the way, there are TWO 8 inchers inside that box, not one.

I thought it was 1, too - till the Blau guy told me it has two. He has allegedly set up the one at the bottom (facing the floor) to 'reverse' on the Head Unit. I saw the setting (Sub 2 on the HU, Sub 1 is set to 'normal') but cant figure how this works. I plan to change the mounting to set it up horizontally, that way it would work front and back.

well u can try that out .. face one of the subs to the rear door and the other towards the rear seat ..

The highlighted part says twin drive units which i presume has to be the 2 subs .. Wowie .. Nice find steeroid uncle .. Gotto dig on it the next time ur here ..

Yes mico is based in bangalore but the last time i went to them enquiring them for an active sub they said " we dont have them sir " or maybe they meant no stock and we never bothered to ask ..

haha .. Welcome aboard the UNCLE gang navin .. Trust me there are a lot of uncles here .. Btw steeroid uncle if ur an ICE fan nothing new , wait until navin goes full techy techy .. Sounds as if even french , german , spanish , tamil will be easier all put together .. Ok let me stop before navin gets mad at me ..
