Description - JP has been my mechanic since when he was in VW ABRA/TVS from 2010. Around 2013 he moved to Audi as service manager. He has been taking care of my Jetta from 2010 till date. In 2016 he started his own service and quit his job in Audi.

He is very knowledgeable and also has access to VAGCOM. He recommends changes based on inspection and will take action only on owners agreement. He only recommends based on actual state of the parts. He is highly trust worthy and will take every step to fix an issue. He is also very cordial for any suggestions you make based on your research and is patient. You can buy your parts and request for help to fix/replace the parts as well.

Most importantly very reliable. There was a time when my clutch gave up in Vellore. He provided as much suggestions as possible to get the car moving including routine check an owner can do to get the car moving. He offered to pick the car by asking me to park it somewhere safe. With his help i was able to get the car back to Chennai where we changed the clutch. He recommended to not change the fly wheel and also explained the noise i will hear/start to hear as the fly wheel starts to rub more. I have drove 10k kms post the clutch change and i do not regret listening to his advice.

If you are a VW/AUDI/SKODA owner who no longer need dealership service (out of warranty) and need a reliable service person, do not look further than JP. I can vouch for him.

Completed my timing belt and 105000KM service with Jai Prakash FNG. Sourced all the parts locally and completed the service. Overall very much satisfied with Jai Prakash support. The parts cost in local market slightly higher when compared to genuineparts.in site.

I'm from Chennai as well and have a 1.4 lakhs kms done Ford Ecosport Diesel. Always serviced at Ford A.S.C. would love to take it to a FNG for my next service. Could you share the address and phone number of your jai prakash FNG. Do they deal with Ford Diesel engines as well ?

Hi, Jai Prakash FNG is specialized in VW engines. But still you can check with him as I noticed other vehicles also in his workshop. Contact details available in the start of the thread.

You can try Bay6. Its in Kasavanahalli, Hosa Road. You have to take left from Hosa Road signal (if coming from Silk Board).

They do all VAG cars servicing.
I service my Vento there and am pretty satisfied with their work.

Thank you for this VW2010. We are also looking for a good mechanic for Audi after being fed up with Audi's ridiculous service charges despite taking the 5 year service plan.

Do you have any idea how is the feedback on Audi servicing, I think you have had great experiences with VW vehicles (though the engines might be the same). How does he source his parts - do you procure them and give it to him or does he manage to source genuine parts from Audi/the OEM? Do you know any Audi owners who have done the servicing from him?

I will share the garage details once he opens the garage and shares the same with me. My car completed 8 years now and he is my only mechanic.

Got my Ford Figo serviced and important issues like the timing belt and pulley kit replaced.

Extremely happy with the service. Nice chap, very attentive and responsive, is open to suggestions.

The only cons is that the workshop is in North Chennai, far away from my place. Takes 2.5 hours to reach the place by public transport if I have to drop or pick up the car.

With VW service centres ignoring actual complaints and only doing the regular stuff, we had to try new options. Warranty was over and it had to be FNG- as long as the parts used were OEM/ aftermarket replacement.

Honestly had two options from Team BHP: Ignite garage and Jai Prakash. Honestly, I felt both were good from the technical side. Ignite is run in a corporate style while Jai Prakash is a proper FNG with very nice personal support. All I cared for was that the job was handled properly. I decided to go with Jai Prakash mainly because he dealt with VAG and also beacuse it was closer home.

Jai Prakash is very transparent. He insists on test driving the vehicle for any complaint we have and tries to replicate the same. Very patient in dealing with such things. There were some thud noises present while going through bad roads and we thought it was due to the worn out shock absorbers. He correctly pointed it out to the steering rack, link rods, ball joints, stabilizer bushes, strut assembly and toe links- all of which had worn out in our 85k km Vento TDI 2014.

The alternator belt and tension bearing were due for replacement and the original parts were sourced. He voluntarily sent a picture of all the parts sourced for the work which was very reassuring.

The engine oil used this time was Liquimoly TopTec 4100 5W40 which conforms to VW 505 01 standards. Overall a great choice and it even reduced engine braking and made the car much smoother. The difference was noticeable although the fuel economy figures didn't show any difference. The regular service was performed as requested.

Overall a great experience. All the issues which were pointed out were resolved. Simply don't remember any such experience before in recent times.

The only negative issue is the location. It's slightly difficult to get there as North Chennai road behavior is chaotic.
