RE is a reflective series (silvery shade) whilst CS is color stable which is a dark sun film
1)
a) In terms of heat rejection RE is better than CS whilst cost wise CS will be cheaper
b) RE is much better at night than CS
c) RE fits most colors and so does CS.
d) I am happy with RE which is on my current car over CS (which was on my earlier car)

2) RE35 for sides and back for my Manza cost me Rs 4k in Jan. CS should be slightly less.

3) Balaji or Privilege carz spa, Jewajee are good options for 3M sun films.

Thanks Sridhar.
Do you face any problems with RE35 during night drive. I am planning to choose one between RE50 & RE35.

Both RE and CS are good if you have decided to go for 3M. RE will be slightly better than CS series. I don't think you would have difficulty with night drive with RE35. If you are still concerned go for RE50. It will be lighter than RE35.

I would recommend to do it from Balaji as they will offer you good discount (at least 10%) if you quote that you are a T-BHP member :D.

I recently did the filming from them for my Linea. I did CS20 for windows and CR70 for windshield.

No issues at night with RE35 unlike my earlier CS35.

One last question, I used to travelling to other states (KL,AP & KN) quite frequently, atleast once every 3 months. If I have RE35 or CS35 sunfilm in the car, will there be any cops problem when traveling to these states?

Thanks Ramesh for your valuable comments. Already spoke to Balaji. They quoted 4.2K for side & rear for RE series, asked me to come in person for negotiation. Dilemma is on which one to go, RE50 or RE35 for sides. I feel RE50 would be fine for rear.

Thanks Again Sridhar

Is there any rate hike on 3M products? Just now I enquired Balaji for sunfilm, they say the rate is around 5.7k for RE series(rear/back), 2 weeks back the same was quoted as 4.1k excl. any discounts.

Rate hike in 2 weeks? It don't believe so. Whom did you deal with at Balaji? Call Vinayagamurthy and discuss.

Here is Bangalore, the 3M Car Care quotes 5.6K for RE series (rear & back) for mid-sized sedan. Other dealers quote between 4.5K & 5K.

Done RE 35 (rear/sides) with Jeewajee Car decors with a very comparative price as I did not want to waste time in bargaining. Will update how it is in a couple of days with photos.
Thanks all for your kind advises.

Hi All,

It seems that 3M has opened a direct outlet in kodambakkam highroad opposite to palmgroove hotel.

Has anyone visited there ? Any reviews?

Hello Joshguy, i am also looking for a 3M for my new SWIFT. Not looking to spend much but just want the very basic model. Need something which is very very basic. That is all.

Hi

Actually i have tried three places for my swift's polish.

1. Waxoly - by a person working for waxoyl came and did it privately on a sunday

My Rating is 2/10

2. Privilege Carz Spa (Nandanam)

My rating is 6/10

3. A private workshop called Maruti Universal in OMR,Kottivakkam

My rating is 9/10

White color's usually do not shine like other colours and thats what happened with the first two polish attempts.I planned a polish for my swift every year so this year i choose the third workshop.Though i know them for past 10 years this was the first time i tried polish with them and the result was really unexpected for the cost(2k).

It was a pleasant surprise for me.I dont remember the brand but they told me that they use the best one.

The 3M i was talking in my earlier post charge between 4 to 7k depending on the package

If you decide to get the polish done thru maruti universal PM me,but i suggest you do it after rainy season

:OTBTW didnt you have a i10 ?

@joshguy yes yes, ive sold the i10 :d I am getting the all new SWIFT. I was talking about the 3M sun film. I dont want to do the polish as it is a new car.

The sun film has to be basic and cost effective.

From my limited experience, RE35 is the best VFM from 3M (cost around 4k). Cheaper would be CS35 but feel that the extra cost for RE is worth it. Garware has some very good VFM alternatives (the sun film on my dad's Wagon R given by Vishnu) is pretty good as well and much cheaper.

I can vouch for RE35. Have been using it for over 8 years now and no qualms whatsoever.

Isn't Kottivakkam on ECR?
