Don't have much clue about the price. 3.5k a piece sounds ok to me.

Personally I'll not go for xyz brand. I'd rather pay a premium and get a "known" brand.
Something "Indian" with warranty and stuff.

Thanks guys, I wasnt happy with any of the alloys since they didnt suite my oyster. I finally pickedup the i20 OE alloys + Yokohama 185 60 R14 A- Drive. It did take a long time to fit them, finally at 8pm the nuts didnt match. So I am running the i20 alloys with i10 OE nuts.

Pramod, said he would pickup the nuts tomorrow and have them fixed at my office. He said he would do it by 11am tomorrow, let us see when this gets done.

oh ! I am so glad to see this. The owner of this shop, Pramod (in the pic) , is a very good friend. We went to school together.

Very honest and straightforward chap, no beating around the bush etc.

If you guys drop into his, please do say a HI from 'Prasanna, Cambridge'

I met him recently after 15 years, to get rubber for my car.

I will post the pics tonite sir. The OE alloys costs 10k for a set of 4. Btw, do we need to pay extra for the nuts? or is it always a part of the deal?

In my experience I've payed extra for the 'fancy' nuts on my dad's swift when we got alloys for it. Price was around 1k - July 2008 from Cochin. The nuts come with its own 'key' kinda thingy for opening it with the OE wheel spanner.

I wasnt charged for the nuts. Deepak said he would give it as a part of the deal. He said, each nut would cost close to 25 rs. But 15k for set of 4 - i20 OE alloys + Yoko A-Drive 185 60 R14 in-exchange for OE rims & bridgestone - i10 tyres seem to be a good deal.

hey guys, be very careful with the alloy wheel locking nuts. If you lose the bit that goes into your OEM wrench, you would be stuck big time.

Haha, yeap Joshguy. I will post the pics ASAP. About the tyres, below are the parameters based on which I would give a feedback:

Road Noise: I could feel atleast 50% reduction in road noise when compared to the stock bridgestone B250.

Cornering: Much better than the stock, I feel well planted even while taking turns at 60-70 kmph

Mileage: I would need more time to assess the impact. I feel there wouldnt be much of a change.

I am maintaining 31 psi which makes the ride bouncy but on flat and extremely good roads it is damn smooth.

-Ves: The only negative is that, the tyre seem to pickup a lot of stones. But can anyone confirm if this is a known issue of the A-Drives?

In my experience this is the case with most new tyres.
It will pass

Re: Raja Tyres - Chennai

Fixed an appointment with Pramod for tomorrow.
Quoted Rs3500 for 165/65/R13 XM1+. Same price was quoted by other dealers too.
Will update this thread tomorrow after my experience.

Re: Raja Tyres - Chennai

I wanted to go to this place to check out alloys for my Jazz. It was closed when I went there once. Now with all the traffic diversions in Mount Road for the Metro Rail project, it is a pain to go to this place!
