The bus above which has a facade of a palace was used by Parveen for chartered trips in pre-Volvo days. IIRC this bus was used to ferry the cricket team in 1996 World cup. The bus in picture looks like it has been re-registered in Sholinganallur, chennai.

Yes, it has indeed.
It now runs chartered trips for tourists mostly between Chennai & Pondy.

came across this wacky bus which apparently was used for mobile audio related experiments, looks like it still stands in Mysore. Next time I will make it a point to visit the institute which is near to my in-laws place.

Don't know if this fits here. But if someone has been to esselworld or water kingdom (most of mumbaites have been there), the road train used there is a nicely done thing. Don't know what is it made up of.
