Please keep in mind that the Tata Xenon selling in india does NOT come with Airbags or ESC.

I've just noticed that Tata Xenon have increased the price for the 4X2 version to 10,22,836 Rs. That's a 60% price increase in 3 years time. And we thought the Germans were pricing their car's absurdly :Frustrati.

Mods kindly change the price mentioned on the thread.

Which version are we talking about here? XT (w/ 2.2L Dicor)? or the crew cab(w/ 3.0L Dicor)?

This thread is about the crew cab and I don't see too much of an increase here, the base model still costs about 6 odd lakhs.

Xenon XT however, is much more expensive -

I'm sorry. My bad. It was the website that confused me, since I saw only the XT model and thought only that was on sale.

Looking at the increased interest in pick up trucks these days, posting pics of our Xenon 2wd dual cab luxury. Bought it on April 18th which costed us 8.52 laks on road with private registration. This price also includes 3year/50,000km platinum AMC. We also checked out the ISUZU dmax commercial version and that would have cost us roughly the same but since that was available only in yellow plate we decided to go for Xenon.
Initial impressions are that it's quite easy to drive around town with surprisingly light clutch and steering. The turning radius is comparable to the old Safari dicor. The AC is performing quite well in the 40 plus heat here. The ride in the rear seats is bearable until you hit surfaces like expansion joints on bridges where it's pretty bad, because the bumps to tend to transfer to your back side. No such problems in the front 2 seats though. These are some initial impressions from my side since most of the driving is done by our driver.

So what made you pick up the Xenon crew cab? Just curious, any specific needs, if you don't mind us asking?

Well we wanted a vehicle which could be used for ferrying materials to and fro from our farm. The roads in some places were pretty bad and during monsoon season the water reaches a level that travelling becomes impossible in a regular car. After seeing a private registered Xenon on the road, did a casual test drive and were impressed with the refinement and the comfort in the cabin. We also wanted a pick up which could be self driven occasionally so a white plate registration was compulsory. Then looking at the cost of 8.5 laks felt we could'nt go wrong.

Makes sense! Any accessories planed for it? Replace that awful aluminium side step, and get something like a 'rock slider' - will enhance the looks.
