Hello Latheesh,
Got a chance to check out the vehicle. It is Enjoy from GM stable. Seems they have some serious issue with the engine management and some top brass of the GM had come down to oversee the trouble shooting of the same. May be the reason, the vehicle was stranded by the wayside when you noticed it first.

Re: Scoop Force Motors Mercedes Based MPV spotted

Is it the 1st gen Vito or a present gen Viano thats going to be launched by Force?
Both this

and this....

are highly contrasting...
Well, the 10-15 lacs price tag makes me sadly think it will be the 1st gen Vito.

Re: Scoop Force Motors Mercedes Based MPV spotted

Their M.O so far has been to transfer older model tooling to Force which notsurprisingly works in the Indian market...like the Traveller has proven

My bad, this is indeed a Force one for the Indian market. Last time, I reported it as Enjoy. There are 2 vehicles in Bosch undergoing trials. The decals on the inside are all taped/ taken out to avoid any resemblance.

I found this fully covered MPV on Mumbai-Pune expressway on 28th Sep. Could it be the same Force MPV?

Yes, that's the Mercedes Benz Vito, which will be sold as the Force MPV in India.

Cheers,

Re: Scoop Force Motors Mercedes Based MPV spotted

Something made me give this "Tempo Traveller" a second look - I dont know what. So I followed it to make sure if it was really a Tempo Traveller or the actual Mercedes Benz camper on which it is based.

It turned out to be the real thing - the Mercedes 709D Camper.
  • A Mercedes logo (tri-star) on the front grille.
  • A Mercedes-Benz plate at the back.
  • 4 wheels on the rear axle.
  • Tail lights were mounted on the rear bumper.

Re: Scoop Force Motors Mercedes Based MPV spotted

Why do they reintroduce these age old models? Todays cars are way better engineered than 25 yrs ago. Or are they redesigning the whole car - if yes, then why?
Is it price alone driving the decision?

May be a make-up van like actors use ? Some actors are known to have camper vans. Could be one of these.

btw, I assume this one had an India regn
