Volvo builds their own buses. They no more send chassis to Azad for coach building. Volvo established "Volvo Buses India Limited" a couple of years back, and this new company builds coaches for Volvo.

Azad now takes care of body rebuilding of old Volvo buses (which are necessitated due to accidents).

"Jaico automobiles" is the name of the company which owns the "Azad" brand for bus body-building. (slightly OT..."Prakash" is the bus-body-building brand of "SMKannappa automobiles", BLR)

Volvo bus-bodies still continue to be "Azad" bodies, albeit thru a different company. This new company (Volvo Buses India Limited) is a JV between Volvo and Jaico automobiles, created for building bodies exclusively for Volvo.
