Not always. The more prevalent structure ( heard from someone who worked with a fleet owner) is that the drivers are given fuel money basis historical mileage and distance calculation and it's up to them to manage within it. Also, the bribes that they have to pay corrupt cops aren't always reimbursed so a lot of such drivers (and owners) were much happier dealing with states (like Gujarat) that had proper octroi checks. |
