interesting stuff this, but it shows IMO the level of bonding between tata-fiat, i am waiting for future fiats in india with better after sales.
What's going to be sold there (as also in Thailand) is the new TL Sprint unveiled at Bologna recently, not the 207 we see here.

The Equation changeth ?

Found this, tucked away on Mahindra's updated web-site. Sadly, just this one pic and no specs.

@condor that looks very much like the summary of the documents I had seen being prepared, however most naturally the rival has not been mentioned on the mahindra site.

PS: The pic looks more like the scorpio pickup[south africa] than the maxx pickup though.

I think people are confusing the TL with the 207 DI.
The Tata TL is not a seller. It was intended as a yuppy sports truck, but it flopped because its neither a yuppy sports truck nor a bare bones load carrier.
However the 207DI comes with the 407 engine(block also seen in DICOR).
It is extremely popular in Noida, esp the Power steering(EX) version, and I see various of these hauling loads which are definitely more than 2 tonnes.
