These Piaggio's spew a lot of unwanted pollution. Why are these being allowed to even sell. More bad news for the environment.

Ape is a range of commercial vehicles that Piaggio makes. So the three wheelers that carry passengers (~auto) is Ape, the loader is also Ape, the covered cargo is also Ape and now this 4-wheeled thing is also Ape. This thing is named Truk (sub variant in Ape range).

As for the production cap it is possible that the 140000 Ape production is inclusive of the Truk (It is also Ape, remember). That 10000 maybe the reserve capacity that they are still left with.

Actually Ape is a range of commercial vehicles, most of them three-wheeled. This particular vehicle is called Truk. And the company that manufactures these vehicles is Piaggio (Italy), the company that designed and manufactured the erstwhile Bajaj scooters, LML Vespas in India (in technical partnership).

I bought a ACE truck for my company for 1.78lakh. Now even that is 2.2. Why should they increase the price so fast?? its unfair now...

Piaggio's four wheeled quargo

Piaggio as well as Mahindra are currently testing small four-wheeled cargo vehicles in Maharastra.
6 months back , i came across two prototypes of Piaggio Quargo, a four-wheeled cargo vehicle, to compete with TATA ACE, being tested around Panchgani.

I had also come across a Mahindra fourwheeler, the same size as a TATA ACE, which is again going to be directed against the ACE.

TATA ACE was launched more than a year ago and has suddenly opened up a new segment of small four-wheeled cargo vehicles. Faster than the big 3-wheeled cargo vehicles, the ACE, as it passes off as a 4-wheeler, is also allowed on the expressway.

Pictures of the Piaggio Quargo:

Fully agree. they are slow like elephants, make noise like a helicopter and spew enough pollution to compete with a mini coal fired generator. It should have been banned under a variety of laws already. Shame on Piaggio to dump this relic on Indian roads

I disagree with this fact.. The reason that happens is because of bad maintainence of the vehicles and even worse mixing of fuels. I have seen some Volvo's spew dark black smoke does that mean Volvo buses are bad too. Just goes to show how stingy and lazy people get when it comes to maintainance..
I rest my case.
