What about the Engine no. nomenclature which is quite unlike an AL engine no?

Oh.. yes forgot that...
Leyland engines are numbered XYZ 999999
But this Engine no series are difeerent... Quite possible that it may not be a Leyland..

If the snap was taken at Trichur, looks like the vehicle is lying in front of the Income Tax office at Sakthan Stand, facing Kunnamkulam direction. is the vehicle being taken to M'lore or some other port?

The bus looks like an AL - probably, built on a Viking Chassiss.

It would have helped identification if a side snap, with focus on the wheel hubs of both front and rear wheels
was made.

I remember seeing such vehicles from AL in Cochin TWO DECADES back - approx same length, LH drive being taken back, as export REJECTS. There were more than a few of them - probably close to 50 such vehicles. (Used to stay near the present TVS dealership then).

most of these are built on the same chasis as the new BEST MUTP buses..
and the name on it is FALCON on the export buses.

the buses under discussion here are not Leyland or Tata....but Made in China. The chassis of which are imported and assembled (including body building) by a local SSI unit here at Kalamassery Cochin, Kerala. This has been happening for long. The bus shown in the link "busexplorer" also is abt the same. These are exported to dubai either throug manglore or mumbai ports.

Whoooops!!! Where in Kalamassery?? On the NH?? And why not Kochi port? I know that buses have been exported through Kochi port, so why take them 350 or 2500 KM for shipping when Kochi is hardly 23 KM away?
