Re: An AC bus this time! AL Viking BS-III Delivered

Hi,

TT (Tempo Traveller) or now known as Force Traveller is BS-III complaint and has EDC VP-37 ECU Controlled with Rotart FIP.
IN VP-37 Systems, Injection Timing and Governors are electronically controlled; but Injections are only sensed and are not controlled electrically.

Infact, control systems on TT are more advanced than most petrol cars (upto sedan) in indian market.
Even TRAX has VP-37 based system.

In HCV, Eicher Buses and Trucks are also EDC based systems.

Its scary as well! You tend to lose your exclusivity in the market!

THE BUS HAS A PROBLEM...

When the body was done & the bus was ready for delivery, the engine refused to start. The AL technicians have been called.

They did, well almost. The Prakash guys had short some wires due to which the engine was not cranking. The technicians have temporarily given direct supply. We will take delivery tomorrow & send the bus to TVS workshop in kerela in a day or two.

Not sure if this has been discussed before. What is the usual procedure for taking your bus across state borders during delivery of chassis to building the body and then taking it back to Kerala. Is there any special paperwork required for this?

Temp registration will do, AFAIK. Taxation (entry tax, etc) will be "taken care of" by the RTO guys.

But still, would love to hear first hand info from raj.

Trust TBhp to throw up surprises like this. Hope the fault is taken care by the TVS Mechanics in Cochin. All the eyes which we put on this thread must have been too much for the bus to handle.

Same doubts here. @Raj-Some insights please.

Grey with White stripes seem to be a perfect colour combo for an A/C bus.

All the best Raj, Looking forward to your pictures. The part that i liked about you is you listen to the feedback from TBHPiens, hope those who manage the data to day operations are also like that.
