Print out won't be required, just the SMS or email on phone suffices.

Swargate is SWR. Stop for Chembur would be Maitri Park. However, for going to Magarpatta, why not go to Pune Station (PNESTN) instead?

Folks, is the Pune - Dadar Shivneri a convenient way to get to the address shown below? Does it have a scheduled stop nearby?



EDIT: MSRTC website shows that the Shivneri to Borivali has 2 stops in Bandra - Bandra Housing Board Office and Bandra Rly. station Phata. Will this be a better option?

A borivali bound bus practically takes a arc around the BKC. It would be better to take a dadar bound bus which is more frequent, go upto the Sion hospital stop, and take a cab from there. It is also possible to get down way earlier at the Ghatkopar Fly over and take a cab to enter BKC from the Kalina side, but I will not advice this to some one who doesn't know the area well.

Map shows both of the distances are nearly same, just that Pune Station - Dadar has higher frequency, everything else is same.

You can get down at Bandra housing board. US consulate is around 3-4 kms from there. "Hopefully" you should get an auto from there or Uber is always there. Also it all depends on what day and time you are planning to reach. Traffic can notoriously pile up at the below locations:

1)Vashi toll (due to bridge work)
2)Sion circle (as usual peak time traffic)
3)Sion-Dharavi area

My train reaches Pune at 9 AM on Sunday. Can I get a Shivneri service on Sunday morning from Pune Jn?

Also where should I get down in Mumbai?

TISS is in Deonar, on the route of the Pune - Dadar Shivneri.
It is just after the Vashi bridge, and the gate is on the main road, you can ask your driver to stop at the gate of TISS.

If you get down at Ghatkopar, you can take the SCLR which will take you to BKC in 10 minutes.

There are 6 Shivneri buses every hour from Pune station bus stand. 4 go via Aundh-Wakad and 2 go via Chinchwad-Dehuroad.
Take the route via Aundh as it is marginally quicker.
Even on the worst day, only alternate bus is cancelled, I have travelled many times with just 4 or 5 passengers in the 45 seater. You can book by making an ID on MSRTC site directly, or just take a ticket at the current counter there.

Spotted MSRTC's newly delivered Volvo B8R running on the Pune-Mantralaya Route. These Volvo B8R's were delivered a fortnight ago, and from what i know have come in a batch of 10 to 17 (not very sure about the exact figure, but definitely more than 10).

Surprisingly, for reasons that i cannot fathom - all of them are on lease. Yet, pretty good fleet addition considering its been 3+ years since the Scania's were inducted in the fleet.

I think you can expect more MSRTC buses coming in.I stay in BLR,so about 2 weeks back I had passed the Volvo factory quite a few no. of times and had spotted a whole lot of them near the main gate.It was definitely more than 20 for sure.

MSRTC Buses are in sets of 27. So a Depot can get a new lot of 27, 54, 81 or 108 buses.
In every set of 27, 25 are on scheduled duty, one is down for scheduled maintenance, and one held back for emergency. Weekends being rush days do not have scheduled maintenance, and the bus is handed over to whichever route wants to run a special service.
