Changed my Beat's shoes today evening at BK Tyres to Yokohama Earth 1 175/65/R14.

Highly Recommended shop for Tyres & Alloys.

Cheers!

Re: Tyre & Alloy Wheels - BK Tyres (Lajpat Nagar-1)

I went to this shop today, after having a good experience twice before, today's experience was poor.

Reason:
I wanted to get a replacement Sensairy tpms kit fitted on Glanza. Showed the 5 sensors to be replaced.
The sales manager, quoted the astronomical sum of Rs 1500 for changing out the sensors and rebalancing.

I countered with Rs 1000, to which he grudgingly agreed. As the work was about to start I asked his man to chalk identifying marks on all 5 tyres - at which point the sales manager said he won't do 5 tyres - only 4 for Rs 1000.
I refused. For me getting 5 sensors installed was a requirement. He could have quoted a different price - but even that was unfair as he had seen all 5 sensors. Still wanting to give the establishment a second chance, I escalated to the owner. Asked the owner to name a price. The owner just said his team don't want to do the work at all, as they think the TPMS fitment will lead to "issues".

Later , I went to Prestige tyres a.k.a. Universal tyres on the main lajpat nagar market street. Much more professional behaviour encountered here. They quoted Rs 100 per tyre for sensor fitment, and Rs 100 per tyre for balancing work , + Rs 2/gm of balancing weight. Total for 5 tyres came to Rs 1280. And All work done with a smile.
The shop's environment was a lot better than B.K. Tyre too. Less sullen employees, and overall better organized.

I think B.K. tyres is not what it used to be. Maybe arrogance has gotten the better of them. I will certainly avoid them in the future.
