Re: My BMW E46, DIY Tools & Jobs!

Hey Karan - I've been keenly following your E46 project on YouTube. I'm a subscriber of your Youtube channel too

I also follow a nice auto channel called "Carfection" and surprisingly, I saw this! Conversion of an E46 (AMT) to Manual. After watching this, the first thing that came to my mind was your E46 project. Thought to share it with you! Please find the link below:

Enjoy!

Yes, they do a good job every time & this E46 CSL with an Manual is definitely a complete package. Nice to know you remembered our Indian ProjectE46 after watching their video

Thanks for sharing

This seems to be one of the best threads I've recently come across. Hoping to see it regularly updated.

Oh so typical of the BMWs. I believe you have experienced already how painful it is to even change the bulbs in the headlights.

Good that someone already pointed out on the engine mounts being weak. Did you change them already? Please be careful while using 3D printed parts on safety critical components. Have come across some horrible failures on the autobahns (E46 forums in Germany) due to self made 3D printed parts.

Your channel is always a good source of information with respect to BMWs. Keep up the good work. I hope you now got more time at home to play around with the beemers.

May be you already know this website: (the workshop manual for DIYers, for almost all BMW models):

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/

I have used this extensively and even have changed my steering column components. This is as close to real workshop manual as it can get.

Yes, but in this case a superior material was used i.e. Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU).

Re: My BMW E46, DIY Tools & Jobs!

Karan and experts,

Would you know which BMW brake fluid should I use for a BMW 2013 x1? Mine is too old and need to replace.

Rajesh,

I'd request you to check the grade with your BMW service centre or check your car's manual as surely there it will be mentioned or goto www.RealOEM.com and put in your vin and get this specific detail & optional grades to be used for your x1.

All the best
