Yes.
Worst case you will have to make a custom harness and fuse tap it since I'm assuming Delta won't have the same couplers as Alpha. But mirror and covers will be a perfect fit.

Re: DIY: Auto-Dimming IRVM install in a Maruti Suzuki XL6

Great thread, thanks for sharing. To be honest, I am bit jealous now

I badly miss 2 features in my Compass, cruise control and auto dimming IRVM. I tried boodmo and was unable to locate any parts for Compass related to IRVM or CC. Every day I see these items like cruise control and HID's being retrofitted in cars like Altroz, Nexon and Creta/Seltos and this really boils my blood.

My conversation with Jeep SA below

Me: Hey, I want to retrofit HID or LED in my Compass. Are there any Jeep official accessories? The stock throw is pathetic.

SA: No sir, Jeep doesn't offer any such accessories for Compass.

Me: Ok, can I get it retrofitted from outside?

SA: No sir, it will void warranty.

Me: Stock throw is pathetic. I can't drive confidently at night.

SA: Yes sir many owners complained. Jeep is aware.

Me: So, can I get auto dimming IRVM and new LED lights from facelift version in my Compass?

SA: No sir.

Me: Can I get them fitted aftermarket?

SA: No sir warranty will void.

Me: Can I get auto dimming IRVM fitted from aftermarket?

SA: No sir, Jeep will void warranty.

Me: Can I get cruise control from Limited Plus variant installed in Compass?

SA: No sir, Jeep will not sell those parts and they will void warranty if you get them retrofitted from outside.

Me: Kill me dude

SA: No sir, Jeep will void warranty.

(Last statement is added just for fun).

Haha,

I can understand your predicament.

But you can safely change your headlight bulbs to much better HIDs and LEDs without any effect on warranty.

just don't let them cut any wires

Yes, it is mounted on the windshield.
Roof mounted IRVM of 3rd Gen might have a different mount.

To clarify, frame less IRVM of the 2017 facelift is indeed manually adjustable. But, the mounting position of IRVM in V variant (which has normal IRVM) vs ZX variant (which has auto dimming IRVM) is different.
Sir,

Could you please post a few pics of the install.
I really want the same for my 4th gen city

Re: DIY: Auto-Dimming IRVM install in a Maruti Suzuki XL6

Hi Shashi,

Spent all evening connection the red wire to +ve only to bother to re read your again and discover it's the green that goes to positive! And here I've been stripping wires and checking continuity and potential difference and what not! One would think this is color coordinated.

What I can say is that for the new Thar, the IRVM is placed much lower than stock now. I'm almost done with it.

The question - should I use araldite to glue the metal mount to the glass? Internet gyaan says windshield butyl may be a better fit since it is 'elastic' in nature and may give a clean black finish as well on the other side of the glass. Your suggestions are welcome.

If I may answer, Both the glues will do the Job, as you mentioned. I've personally used Araldite to stick the mount onto my windshield on my 2006 Swift in 2022, and it's still holding up well. Definitely, the windshield sealant will be easier to work with. Any excess glue can be cut off using a blade, but it is not the same with Araldite Standard.

Small tip- Refrain from using electric tapes which become sticky and messy in future. Switch to heat shrink tubes or Tessa Tape

Hope this helps

Thanks for the inputs. I went ahead with uretherane from a nearby shop. 100 bucks and we were good to go.

I also managed to spread it up the stencil to avoid any vinyl work. It's curing now. The job will be ready tomorrow. Ignore the diagnol bubble tape below the uretherane ; that's just some vinyl I used to mark the bottom mark of the metal mount.

You should have stuck the Mount with the windshield sealant on the black portion where the stock IRVM Mount is stuck, it has better bonding capabilities than direct on the windshield. Is there any reason for mounting it a bit lower?

Re: DIY: Auto-Dimming IRVM install in a Maruti Suzuki XL6

Yeah I'd have liked to be unfortunately the stalk with the wiring and all extends fairly far up till the roof of the car. If you notice the pics, the wiring is quite tight. Further...
1. I have to slide the whole assembly from above. For this I'll have to borderline remove the roof panel again.
2. I have to fit the harness as well subsequently. It's so tight currently that I cannot do either of the jobs above without having to take off the roof panel.

I hope it stays. If it doesn't, araldite is next. More secure I'm sure. And I'm thorough. It's about 8/18C here so I assume it will take 2 days to cure. It was jelly like 5 hours after initial application.
