Sir, I have read your forums here as well as on ForScan. Kudos to your tech acumen for creating such a time piece. Thanks to you, I have bought the OBDLink EX and I am suer excited to learn how to use it.

I am also planning to upgrade the existing SYNC 2 with SYNC 3. I am having a tough time sourcing one. Would you be able to provide me with any assistance in sourcing one with the harness and the modules alogwith USB ports? Also, I would be requiring a VIN to download As Built Data for writing the codes via ForScan once the setup is installed. Where to find that? I don't have anyone known who has EcoSport.

So, you're plunging into the thrilling mission of a Sync upgrade—how exciting! It’s like giving your car a brain transplant, but with way more gadgets and tech. You're not just upgrading; you're leveling up into the future!

Now, Sync 1 to Sync 3 conversions can be a bit of a DIY adventure. If you’ve got the previous-gen Ecosport, chances are it’s rocking Sync 1 (not Sync 2 if I recall correctly), meaning you’ll need some clever engineering magic. Custom mounting and panel wizardry will be key to fitting that snazzy 6.5-inch or 8-inch Sync 3 display and control panel.

The harnesses for Sync 1 to Sync 3 upgrades international markets. You’ll probably need a little extra wiring for integrating Sync 1 audio wiring with Sync 3 compatible Audio Control Module (ACM), but fear not—the right components are just a shipping fee or friendly acquaintance away. And yes, international shipping comes with its perks and customs charges. I can assist in arranging Sync 1 to Sync 3 wiring for this once. Everyone selling Sync 3 kits in India are getting them from either Ebay UK or Ebay USA or resellers based in Thailand. It will be easier if you have any acquaintance to carry them from abroad.

Ebay UK, for instance, is like a treasure trove of Sync 3 modules and juicy VINs. A quick search with terms like “Ecosport module” will have you swimming in results. The description should include VINs for some of them. WF01XXERK1KY44220, WF01XXERK1LB42858, WF01XXERK1KU06638 are a few Ecosport VINs with Sync 3. You can download asbuilt using VIN from Ford at this link https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

In short, with some parts scavenging, a dash of patience, and a sprinkle of creativity, you’ll be cruising in a car that’s smarter than ever. Let me know how I can chip in—happy upgrading!

That really helped iron out a lot of things for me. Although I, spending time now to identify and source parts for Sync 3 upgrades, I have got my hands on the vGate OBD Cable yesterday. Ive spent time exploring the FORScan for the time being, and I am intrigued by the plethora of possibilities with this. However, I also realised that there are a lot of settings/ features that may not be applicable to my car. And some features require changes across various modules to come into effect.

What are the certain changes that ARE applicable to EcoSport that can be applied and are beneficial in everyday life?
