Hello Everyone.
I am Back with another Big upgrade For Facelift Ford Ecosport>2017 model
It’s a Full digital Instrument Cluster/Speedometer upgrade for Facelift model.
You would’ve seen these kinds of fully digital clusters in luxury Sedans and SUVs not on a mid-segment car, even though if present it would’ve been a partial one having segmented displays with LCD
Bad part 1st, Sorry to say it’s not for the older models before 2017 as the architecture and the Pin configurations are totally different. In fact, the older model cluster has the immobilizer key programmed, master for the Vehicle configuration and also follows different electrical architecture, so it’s not possible practically. That’s it about the bad part.
Okey coming back to Facelift model it follows different architecture which is more flexible than the former one I said above, and also we can incorporate many modules from its other sibling such as latest generation puma, Kuga, Focus, Fiesta Escape etc. provided some software and hardware customization done.
As I listed the possible feature mods in this below link, I am introducing the next modification here in this thread.

Again this is also a my late release due to vehicle unavailability. now I bought a facelift model so releasing next mods is very easy for me.
I bought this part two years back from US 2020 Escape, and bringing to India was very difficult. I was worried about possible damage to the part as it’s a complete LCD unit with heavy heatsink around.
if broken it will be like this :Frustrati :crying
I have seen this cluster being developed during my professional experience,so I was very much sure about technical feasibility and virtually realized about the compatibility on to the dashboard.
I was not worried much about the dashboard fitment part as Iam very much interested into sculpting things.
Only challenging part was on the software. Not all the software low level details cannot be known unless we actually worked and tired it on the vehicle and also using the UDS protocol.
This is very big part so I am not going to touch now, in a nutshell we need to software configure the cluster to make it supported for the actual vehicle configurations either in the NVM or in the EEPROM.
First u need to get the cluster from Escape( LJ6T-10849-DEK ) or Kuga(NV4T-10849-DFC) Puma(L1TT-10849-FPB), Fiesta Focus etc… but u need to find out correct KM or Miles, Diesel or Petrol, AT or MT types based on your vehicle type otherwise u need support on modifying the EEPROM to make it compatible which is not available publicly on top of it the configurations and the frame modifications. This part is costlier as the quality of this HW and SW part is high. i guess the new one costs roughly 2000$, used one may be available at half of its price or even lesser.
so Lets see some physical structural differences
both old and new cluster side by side front view
Backside view
connector closeup
Glass Frame front side
Glass frame rear
Mounting screw holders
LCD without outerframe and drilled new screw holes
so have to trim the outer lens and the plastic frame carefully without a single scratch on the lens and single damage to the LCD
I have used Handle tools from Black and Decker, Dremel tool will work, the intention is not to make any single changes in the dashboard as the reversing things back to stock is trouble free.
here is some more pictures on how it looks
As i have flashed the PUMA software my cluster shows the startup logo from PUMA
another view
This is with Sync4 which is currently in the works
Sync4 in the dash in works soon releasing in the upcoming mod.
with flat bottom steering
I have the details video here the you tube video below please check.

Thank you.
That's a big upgrade and it looks really good. Kudos to you for pulling this off!
The instrument cluster and the steering are the things that a driver would use for 100% of the time so they need to be as good, if not better, than the other features. I am a sucker for the new digital clusters of the VAG group (the ones in Octavia/Tiguan). Is there any way we can fit them in the Polo/Vento?
Fantastic upgrade. Ford's digital system is one of the better ones out there, feature wise. SYNC 4 is also generally held in high regard as to its functionality. Nice to see you pull this off perfectly, great job! :thumbs up
:OT the sides of the tachometer and speedometer are now switched, guess it's going to take a little while to get used to!

Thank you, this is high quality part both software and hardware-wise thus its part cost is costlier.

yes defenitely. the most welcoming things.
for VAG if they are belongs to same generation then most probably they work, otherwise its might require some external CAN modules to be built to support, but its not easy anyway.
That instrument cluster looks absolutely terrifying!clap:
Just goes to show how Ford could easily give updates like these to the Ecosport with a better colour scheme in the interiors, it would have really sold well.:sadface
@jhenu that is a wonderful upgrade! I am looking to install something like this in my 2016 duster. Any lead?

This is an amazing mod. The Ford cluster is one of the best digital clusters in the market and it's amazing that you have put it in the Ecosport. I would love to do this mod, but just from your description it looks to be quite expensive. Can you share how much this will cost ?
Also, what are the changes with Sync 4 that are useful on the Ecosport?

Hi Thank you. as I mentioned the new part cost in US around 2k$, and used one can be purchased for approximately 500 to 700 pounds + plus shipping and customs. on top of it, the software modifications and HW mounting changes required.

By any chance, is there any universal programmable display that can be used as an instrument cluster?

There's no such universal clusters. If u need a full fledged cluster u have to find a matching one from the same oem.
