GETZ Prime DIY Projectors

Hello fellow BHPians,

The GETZ Prime, though a wonderful car, atleast for me always had one flaw, the Headlamps, other GETZ owners agree that the reflector wasnt that great in the car, and the light output on stock Bulbs was completely pathetic, I tried solving the issue by installing 6000K HIDs into the HL and Fogs, it did solve the issue to some extent but not to my complete satisfaction, I tried sourcing projector headlamps for this car but unfortunately could not find any online, then came the option of DIY, I was no expert in this field, I tried looking at some guys who do these jobs in Delhi/NCR but unfortunately none have the finish nor the quality what I was looking for in my lights, I gave up the hope.

Then one day I bumped into m4ugr8 and saw his Civic lights altered, he had fitted a laura projector and was using 4300K HIDs, the light output was awesome, and then with the help of him and my friend Pranav I decided to go ahead with the project.

The project was completed two days back, the delay thanks to the BULBS which were ordered online because nobody sells D2S HIDs in India. But finally the effort and waiting paid off, The light came out beautifully and the output was even better.

A BIG BIG thank you to m4ugr8 for sourcing me the bulbs, pranav for the projector and all the fitting related work and Mr Mukul Patel for his expertise in this project. Some pics below

Hot stuff SAM!
You guys installed the projector in the stock headlamp housing or some other route was taken?

P.S. I notice Jet black tints on the front win screen. How's the vision at night from inside the cabin?

Could you please give us the costs incurred too?
Actually, I meant to ask if you don't have visibility problems with the jet black tints at night?

Congrats Sam, this looks well executed. It would help if you can list down what parts were used & what were the steps taken to do this DIY. This will help a lot of DIYers here.

@ black12rr: Thanks, Projectors, Bezel and Bulbs costs 10k.

@ bharti22shresth: No problem at all. My stock headlamps use to give problems at the highway with the tints.

Thanks for info ,10K for a pair of nice headlamps .

How is operation controlled ?

1.Earlier ,if you were driving without anything turned ON , you flash and the high beam used to be turn ON.

2.Now with this projector , if were driving without anything turned ON and if you want to flash , does it turn ON the bulb and at the same time switch to high beam ( i think its is controlled via a shield which moves back and forth ) . ? .
If it this is the case ,does the flashing is null ,since it takes some time to switch to high beam and ignite the bulb .

Looks like the meanest looking Getz we have at TBHP.
Great job with pix.

Can we also have some pix with fogs on too as you said they too are HIDs.
