Buy a 3M headlight restoration kit; it will have all that you need to do a splendid job
do not be aggressive in cleaning the lens; just use colin and microfiber; if that chrome goes; its tata bye bye
removing the dome may just increase glare
lastly your engine revs going down.. no clue.. maybe power load?

Colin is a household glass and other surface cleaner. You can get it in any supermarket/mall. Costs around 50-60 if I remember correctly.

The cups reduce glare and actually increase bulb temperatures somewhat by reflecting IR back on the filament, increasing light output without increasing power consumption. So removing it is not advisable.

Use a buffing machine/use fine paper. Finish with jeweler's rouge.

Look for shops dealing in paints. They'll have the fine grit wet-and-dry papers you want.

First- connecting them to indicators? You want white turn signals? Most people attach them to parking lamps.
Second- Bad quality LED strips will not last long.
I think it just looks ridiculous unless you go for a proper angel eyes effect.

This is common across cars, the ECU takes some time to readjust idle. But if it is inordinately long, perhaps the battery/alternator needs to be looked at.

I searched around in a lot of paint shops, they never heard of 2000 grit sandpaper, though I was able to get 1200 grit in one shop.
Jeweler's rouge sounds good, will be trying to get that.

The idle lag is not for a long time.
Hmmm, I guess the alternator send signals to the ECU...

My headlights are not dull though they are not new as well (6 yr and 55k kms old). On top of that, I have started using 100/90W bulbs in it now.
I see that there a thin plastic layer peeling off in some areas of the headlight. Is it the clear coat? Will it hasten the deterioration of the headlights? Can I stop it in anyway?
