Offer available at DIY square, Bannerghatta road. This is dead opposite to the Bosch gate nr. 2. Can also be taken out from Kayvee associates shop in Jayanagar 9th block. |
I am interested in getting the drill kit - easy. But I am in Hyderabad. :Frustrati
Can I get the same kit elsewhere. Like may be online or some hardware shops. Which one is cheaper?
I just need to get rid of the hammer and get one of the drills. Just for basic stuff.
What kind of boxes do you guys use in the car to keep the 80-90 pieces toolkits?
I have the original box for such a kit, but because bad abuse(forcibly closing without putting stuff in the slots), the plastic partitions have gone bad, that they dont hold individual bits in place.
Any ideas would be appreciated, either by way of DIY, or purchase.

Take out the plastic insert, and force back the cracked parts to the original shape. Use tape on the reverse side to hold the cracked parts in place. Get a block of wax from the hardware store. Melt some in a can. Pour the molten wax on the reverse side of the plastic partition into the empty spaces. Allow to cool and harden and put back in the box.
Also get a piece of closed cell foam, cut it to the size of the box and keep it on top of the bits and pieces - will prevent rattle in the box.
Here is some addition to my garage
A table work light with magnifying glass
A Small vice for miniature things
Disclaimer; I am not marketing the light, nor any tool . Pics posted for hobby purpose only :)

The light/magnifying glass is something I've been thinking of getting for years!
That's a nice vice., I like the included small anvil surface. It looks old, family heirloom?
I'm sure that no disclaimers are needed: mutual recommendations are part of forum life --- and I'm sure that the mods catch out the few that do abuse that.

yes its old , but not from the family, they are not keen on having a garage in the premises :D. But I still do manage to update it whenever possible.

Just a small precaution, in case.

:) Don't worry, we know you won't stoop to market illuminated reading / magnifying lamps and small-parts vices.
Watch out for the vice squad!
Here's mine. It's very adaptable and very adjustable, but I really miss the small, simple one I had on my old jewellery bench back in London.
Also shown here is the
bench peg that I mentioned earlier in the thread. This is just soooo useful :)

Did you get this locally?
Are you still into jewellery design or what? I spy a sheet metal shear on the table.

No, I got it in UK, but I suspect that it might well be available from Stanley dealers here.

It was only ever a hobby, and I did not do much of it for last decade or so in UK, so it is getting on for 20 years, and I don't really have much of the knack/skill left. I gave away most of my stuff before leaving UK, keeping only a small selection of hand tools. Often wish I hadn't!
The nut splitter /cracker I posted on other forum before.
A very useful thing for a DIYer , if those nuts are seized or jammed due to rusting one can sacrifice the nut & save the bolt or stud .

I bought it from local tools market in Pune . This is a very uncommon item & you may need to search hard for it

Hi All,
Any idea where I can get
HSS Step Drill Bit in Bangalore and if anyone here has bought this please share approx. price.
I have not tried to call shops listed in this thread, I thought I will ask here before I start calling them.
Here is a picture of the drill bit and is used mostly for thin metal
Note: The same drill bit is available on ebay.com at around 10 to 17$.
Regards.
