There is no option for such kind of class action law suit in India.

I held it for 4 years then I pressed the dreaded cancel reservation button on the website after logging in. I thought everything was done but what started was a further nightmare. I had paid by credit card and my card had changed, so every time I tried to update my card details on Tesla website the action was not allowed to be updated and kept getting rejected. Weird website and even complaints to their helpline was useless, infact even today I cannot change my password even after getting a password reset link when I press it it says link expired. Repeated complaints to customer care and nothing happens. Moral: Tesla is terrible at customer service.

Now coming back to my refund, I searched the entire website and the forums, and found one email address on which I sent an email and luckily the gentleman helped me, first he asked for revised card details but later asked me for a cancelled cheque and had the funds wired to my bank account without interest. To add to the woes the funds were held up by my bank in India as they thought I needed an Import Export license. After a few verbals fights with my RM and their back office I got the funds credited after 48 hours into my account.

Lesson: Never buy a Tesla or a car or a product which has no signs of launch in India.

In 4 years no information from Tesla. Not even a scale model car which was given to early bookers in the USA. Not even a Thank you card for waiting for so long. They just dont care and such kind of companies dont deserve my money. I would request everyone still waiting to claim refund and put an end to their nightmare, they can buy Tesla later if they still want to, if Tesla ever officially comes to India.

Providing a level playing field is crucial for any country. Good that govt is not budging on this unjustified demand for reducing import duties on Chinese made CBU EVs dumped into the Indian market.

At the same time I guess Govt stalling (/disallowing) Great Wall Motors from investing into India to make & sell I.C.E. cars, will not go well with China. Authorities should build robust safeguards & include investment process audits to allow reasonable competition in the Indian car market.

But then car buyers are an irrelevant minority and high car prices only benefits the Govt coffers.

He has gone to Indonesia thanks to their Nickel production. I respect his vision and his drive to create a usable EV for the developed world and boosting EV movement but with the way he has treated me and other first bookers in India I have lost all the respect that he earned. No replies even to emails from him or customer service show how little he appreciates us holding on to bookings for so many years. Time to move onwards from Tesla obsession in India to home grown EV makers who are wasting no time and giving us decent products.

Saw a Tesla Model 3 being driven in Powai, Mumbai today. It had a red number plate with KA number. Managed a quick click, but not the best photo quality since the car went by fairly quick.

It should be a model 3. For reference, Model Y will be taller than the auto-rickshaw and the white sedan driving past.

Red number plate with temp registration means it is used for company's internal testing. We should just drop getting hyped about release. Tesla is not going to release in India in near future anyway, Elon's ego is beyond anything.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the correct thread to post but I saw 4 Tesla’s parked in my office building (multiple firms operating from the same building). Attaching the photos of what seems to be a model 3 and a model Y but please correct me if I am wrong as this is the first time I have seen a Tesla in India(Pune).

Could these be here for testing? Are we going to see a launch soon?

Photos aren’t of very good quality as parking isn’t properly lit.
