It is really not decided yet (As per my knowledge). But as you said, it might be the case. Because now TML wants to showcase a higher range of vehicles with RWUP range of ~400km in single charge. Punch would be slightly above Nexon-EV but below Harrier-EV in terms of range. Punch-EV's internal code name is Signa Hornbill

I am not aware yet. Will update if anything is there. However, IC engines are now on somewhat backfoot in TML's future plans. Facelifts would be there for sure!

Re: Rumour: Tata Harrier EV enters alpha testing phase

I am waiting for the safari EV. I am mostly looking for a 7 seater EV, which for me helps plan 1 car fits all option. Also its high time somebody launches 7 seater in EV space as 7 seat segment is catching up very fast in india. Imagine a Nexon EV with 7 seat config and > 4mtr in length. This will be a real seller in my opinion. Because this will help space out battery in floor and hopefully reduce the Knee's up seating for 2nd row and accomodate a 3rd row.

Amazing to hear work on Harrier EV. Maybe it will come just before the Harrier ICE facelift next year (identical to the launch of Nexon EV).

Wonder if it will be based on electrified Omega Arc or X1 ( on which Curvv is planned).

So Harrier EV will be a BEV car under the AVINYA platform?

Nah, AVINYA platform belongs to Gen3 EV as per TATA.
Harrier EV will be a Gen2 product as Omega platform is electrification capable.
Other Gen2 products will be Altroz EV, Punch EV both based on ALFA platform which also allows for electrification in a better way than Gen1 products like Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV all of which are based on decade old X1 platform.

Gen2 will have 4 products as quoted by Shailesh Chandra. ( 2 BEVs, 4 Gen2, and 4 Gen1 in 10 vehicles).

With Curvv announced, Altroz and Punch EV confirmed (both are on the same platform) only one space is left. So it can be either Harrier (if Harrier why leave Safari?) or the showcased model Sierra.

So I assume Harrier, Safari, and Tata EVision (sedan) will all come on AVINYA platform.

I am not aware yet. Will update if anything is there. However, IC engines are now on somewhat backfoot in TML's future plans. Facelifts would be there for sure!

Any idea about the launch time frame of the Curvv?

Curvv was quoted to be launched in 2 years from the announcement. So we can expect it in the second half of 2024.

By any chance, do your former colleagues have any news of newer ICE vehicles from Tata; other than the Tata Curvv ?
Has Tata moved away from X2 platform and 4X4 vehicles for ICE vehicles? Unfortunately, there are only speculations on these and no definite answers.

This has been discussed some days ago & still the status is same. There are no "New" ICE vehicles planned or atleast are not being tested. Facelifts are the only hope for ICE.
TML is completely engrossed in BEV vehicles. So much so that, the electric heavy commercial vehicles are also being tested on priority.
You may see an electric Prima Truck in 2023 Auto Expo. Claiming range of ~450km with full legal load.

Is there anything about NEXON update you can share? Given the incoming deadline of BS6 phase 2, I am expecting an engine update atleast. (which might be its last update until its phased out in favour of EV)

Nothing on that front as well. And honestly, I don't think BS-VI Phase 2 will have any impact on engine as such. Some tweaking in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, some tweaks in the engine ECU and other minor modifications will be enough for BS-VI Phase 2 (As far as I know)
