At this point M&M seems to be hesitant to go all out with their EV launches, perhaps waiting for someone else to create the supply chain in India. Makes sense for Tata to call them out however the Baleno/i20 vs Altroz ads by Tata seemed to have only exposed the obvious, as sales have now shown.

Besides , all that M&M wants at this point (publicity) for XUV Ev is being served in a platter for no cost by Tata. Wonder who is in charge of these things.

Agreed it is not in good taste, and gives unnecessary publicity to M&M.

But there should be some push back to this trend of premature launches with no sign of price or delivery date. It is going to be nearly three months and there is no update from M&M, I am very disappointed.

Tata Motors announced a new milestone for the Nexon EV as its total sales crossed the 35,000 unit mark.



Tata revealed its achievement on social media, while taking a dig at rival Mahindra. The carmaker posted an image with the numbers, “35,000 > 00” and the caption, “Need we say more?” The “00” is a clear reference to the Mahindra XUV400, which is yet to go on sale.

The Tata Nexon EV is the highest-selling electric car in India. It is offered in Prime and Max variants, with the latter getting a 40.5 kWh battery pack with a maximum range of 437 km.

The Nexon EV Max is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor that has an output of 141 BHP and 250 Nm. The Prime version packs 127 BHP and 245 Nm and offers a range of 312 km on a single charge.

There is place for some light hearted pulling the legs. Hope it energizes Mahindra to bring out better rounded EVs. The 400 looks like a short gap workaround.

But also both Tata and Mahindra need ground up EVs at the earliest to make an impact and have a early shot before the Chinese come in rushing.

This is bit childish, I know TATA Nexon is doing good in the Market and I have huge respect for that not even Maruti/Suzuki was able to achieve this milestone. Its like comparing unborn child to 10 Year old kid's achievement. I am certainly not in for this stupid leg pulling activities by TATA's social media or marketing team. I think they have forgot that the Mahindra has tied up with VW group for EV platform technology.

Actually a bit of banter is quite welcome. On a serious note I see a lot of Tigors and Nexons in green plate on the road. Tata's success in EV is quite evident and have given them a reason for a little banter.

Doesn't make sense at all! Report says Mahindra EV hasn't gone on sale yet, right? If yes, then it's pure stupidity of Tata's marketing team who've failed miserably in doing their home work.

While I agree, Tata is certainly ahead in EV game, trust me, Mahindra does better preparations before they go full-ballistic with their new launches (ex: Thar, 7OO, Scorpio-N). Expect similar response when their full EV range goes on sale. They'll certainly play catch up while Tata shouldn't rest on their EV laurels.

Pride hath a fall. TML is succeeding today because there are no affordable EVs from other brands.

As an existing customer who has suffered immense loss of time, money and peace of mind, I am not alone. There are many existing owners who won’t ever purchase a TML product again. Some prior owners from the Indica era refuse to even sit in a Tata. There is a saying that Tata cars cost as much as their resale value in maintenance within 5-7 years. That’s an exaggeration but it is not a wild one. The resale values are so low that you sometimes think if it is even worth it to spend 20% of the market value on maintenance every year.

Yes things have improved a lot in the recent past. However, try driving a Tiago and an i10 of the same age and mileage, and see which one exhibits more rattles. That’s the difference in quality and unfortunately people realise it after a few years.

Such posts depict the arrogance of a company and hubris never ends well.

I'd say it's all good. What's the harm in some good natured humour at the competition's expense. Remember the 20-30 years when Tata just got pounded by everyone. If this can spur M&M to produce their cars faster, even better.

I would take this any day over ex-cricketers pushing Crypto.
