Seems like super practical car.
As informed by dealer, it is expected to be launched in first week of October followed by deliveries around Diwali.
Congratulations! Did they share any details like expected price etc?

re: BYD M6 electric MPV India launch in the coming weeks. EDIT: Named eMax 7

Looks way better as a complete product compared to the E6 and given the fact that there is a dearth of 7 seater EV's in India, this would definitely get the first mover advantage.

Found a video review from Indonesia in their local language.

In Indonesia BYD M6 is 18-19% less than Atto 3 top model superior.
So considering india price placement atto 3 superior is priced 34 lac ex-showroom and 18% less gives us approx 28 lac for BYD M6 superior.

BYD eMax 7 name confirmed for e6 MPV replacement

BYD has confirmed that the upcoming M6 electric MPV will be called 'eMax 7' in India.

BYD M6 electric MPV India launch in the coming weeks. EDIT: Named eMax 7-whatsapp-image-20240909-5.08.13-pm.jpeg

The BYD M6, which replaces the e6 in the brand’s global line-up, was showcased at the Indonesia Auto Show in July this year. The latest teaser not only reveals the silhouette of the new EV, but also its new name.

The BYD eMax 7 will come with refreshed styling, sleek LED headlamps, and reworked LED taillights connected by an LED light bar. Inside, the MPV will feature a larger central touchscreen, a 3-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and an electric tailgate.

In the global market, the eMax 7 is offered with two battery options: 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh, offering a range of 420 km and 530 km, respectively. The batteries power a single electric motor that produces 161 BHP / 310 Nm (55.4 kWh) and 201 BHP / 310 Nm (71.8 kWh).

I hope they provide full digital instrument cluster. The one in BYD M6 looks like a from decade old car. Everything else is good about this car.

I would have thought they would call the 6 seater the E7, and call it the eMAX7 for the 7 seater.

Indeed. But it's either this or the tiny motorcycle dash type cluster in the Atto 3, out of which this looks better IMHO. I really hope they also provide physical buttons for core functions like climate control, like how MG has done with the Windsor.

Re: BYD M6 electric MPV India launch in the coming weeks. EDIT: Named eMax 7

BYD has their task cut out here, they are trying to enter a segment which is ruled by Toyota Innova. Over the years, multiple products have been launched but none made a dent into Toyota Innova's reign.

Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid is priced between Rs.25,97,000 and Rs.30,98,000 so the car should be priced lower than this range for it to make any inroads into the segment.

Hi, it seems difficult for the BYD to launch eMAX7 for less than 29.99 lacs ex showroom in India. BYD, as of now, selling their products as CBU (or may be CKD) and they don't have full manufacturing unit here in India. While the product look great, but 3rd row knee room is not in the league of XL6, Carens & Innova Hycross.

55kWh battery pack likely to cost 29.99 lacs
71kWh battery pack likely to cost 34.99 lacs

Re: BYD M6 electric MPV India launch in the coming weeks. EDIT: Named eMax 7

Updated BYD M6 launching in Thailand,

Quote:
Less than two months after the BYD M6 made its Southeast Asian debut in Indonesia, the electric MPV has now made its way to Thailand. Again, the facelifted e6 is being made available in two variants, but this time, both are six-seaters as standard.
All models are powered by a single front motor, and even the Dynamic gets boosted from a measly 95 PS (70 kW) to a far more usable 163 PS (120 kW), while torque has swelled from 180 Nm to 310 Nm. As for the Extended, that one gets the same motor as the Atto 3, producing 204 PS (150 kW). So equipped, the M6 will get from zero to 100 km/h in 10.1 and 8.6 seconds respectively.

Of course, all models get BYD’s Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The Dynamic’s 55.4 kWh capacity provides an NEDC-rated range of 420 km, while the Extended’s larger 71.8 kWh unit is claimed to be able to travel up to 530 km on a single charge. Speaking of charging, the M6 can accept up to 85 kW of DC fast charging, or up to 115 kW for the Extended, the latter taking 40 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80%. Meanwhile, AC charging is limited to 7 kW across the board.

Design-wise, the M6 has been thoroughly modernised. The e6’s slightly gawky front end has been replaced by BYD’s latest corporate face, with a full-width silver bar (housing the BYD script) linking the revised multi-projector LED headlights. These sit above a wing-shaped bumper insert that ties neatly into the slim air intakes and chrome “tusks”.

E6 was a CKD product so if they keep eMax7 as a CKD product as well. They will be able to price it better.

Also in the league for XL6 and Carens, below are the dimensions of each of the car are as follows

1. eMax7/M6 - LxWxH - 4,710x 1,810x 1,690mm Wheelbase - 2800mm Ground Clearance - 170 mm
2. XL6 - LxWxH - 4445x1775x1755mm Wheelbase - 2740mm Ground Clearance - 180 mm
3. Carens - LxWxH - 4540x1800x1708mm Wheelbase - 2780mm Ground Clearance - 195 mm
4. Innova Hycross - LxWxH - 4755x1850x1795mm Wheelbase - 2850mm Ground Clearance - 195 mm
5. Innova Crysta- LxWxH - 4735x1830x1795mm Wheelbase - 2750mm Ground Clearance - 178 mm

This car is in the league of Innova in space, it would not be as much spacious as Innova but will be near. It will be much more spacious than XL6 and slightly more than carens

It will be marginally larger than Carens, but much smaller than Innova and headroom will be much lesser than both.

My optimistic guess on the prices given the parallel prices in other markets is from 26 to 29. It is much cheaper than Hycross in all other markets, about 10-20% cheaper than the Atto3 and about the same as E6.

They should launch it in 3 variants like the Atto 3, one with 55kwh, and 2 with 72 KWH one with and one without ADAS.

At 29 with a 72kwh battery and 500 km range, it will be serious competition to the others.

Re: BYD M6 electric MPV India launch in the coming weeks. EDIT: Named eMax 7

With falling battery prices - if this first ever 7-seater EV with 71kw battery pack retains the 30L price tag same as E6, all of the local manufacturing competition (tata, mg, mahindra) will come up with lower price tags heating up the competition.
